Job summary

Truist Financial Corporation is seeking a Product Manager to balance business, technology and design priorities, delivering brand-defining products and services. The role emphasizes discovery, data capabilities, and AI-enabled exploration while aligning with risk, security, and compliance expectations.

The ideal candidate will work strategically and tactically to develop a delivery roadmap, monitor demand and customer experience, and drive revenue.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, design, or technology field; or related field or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • Five or more years of banking, financial services, or other relevant work experience
  • Three or more years of product, analysis, technology, and/or design experience
  • Three or more years of leading cross functional teams
  • Experience defining/driving vision of experience programs and/or partnership based programs
  • Experience defining and delivering large-scale online initiatives
  • Proven ability to use data analytics, research and testing methodologies to drive business decisions, diagnose problems, and recommend action plans to resolve issues
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Comfortable managing concurrent projects in a fast-based, results-driven environment
  • Excellent skills in presentation, facilitation, communication, and negotiation
  • Experience in roles requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills & the creation and delivery of succinct presentations to explain and sell plans/vision

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze, and learn about a target client segment and their financial needs
  • Define a differentiated product vision and deliver data-driven recommendations
  • Collaborate with partners to align strategy and develop a delivery roadmap
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across lines of business to plan and execute projects
  • Write epics and features and prioritize work across teams
  • Set PI vision and delivery timelines with product owners
  • Develop feature backlog and conduct discovery, prototypes, usability studies, and analytics planning
  • Obtain partner alignments including legal, compliance and security
  • Create and track product metrics to inform strategy
  • Work with Readiness to create client and teammate facing content
  • Ensure risk management and adherence to PML processes and security requirements
  • Attend Agile ceremonies as applicable

This role is a Product Manager who balances business, technology and design priorities to deliver brand-defining product and service experiences. This role balances strategic product management, human-centered design thinking, and product owner execution discipline. The ideal candidate brings strong product discovery and data capabilities and is able to translate business opportunities into high-level concepts, data flows, and solution directions. While not expected to perform low-level technical work, this individual is expected to keep technical feasibility and constraints in mind and leverage AI-enabled tools to rapidly explore, communicate, and validate solution ideas.

The Product Manager has business goals and is responsible for developing and maintaining a strategic delivery roadmap that supports those business goals. This position must be able to work at the strategic level (generating innovative ideas for growth) and at the tactical level (analyzing data, solving problems, and working with delivery teams for development). This position will help monitor and drive the business on all aspects of demand, customer experience, and conversion.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with data pipelines, in addition to using a Scaled Agile development framework. This person should be able to move fluidly between business stakeholders and technology teams to prioritize the highest value items for delivery.

The Product Manager will help shape digital experiences that improve client experience, generate additional revenue, and enable cost savings, while ensuring alignment with Truist risk, control, accessibility, security, and compliance expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Research, analyze, and learn about a target client segment, to garner a deep understanding of their segment and that segment’s financial needs.
  • Analyze the market and competitive environment to define a differentiated product vision that delivers unique value. Translate analyses into sound recommendations based on data and experience.
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of partners to align on strategy and develop a delivery roadmap that supports business goals.
  • Collaborate and engage key stakeholders, including lines of business, operations, and other functional areas in the planning and execution of projects.
  • Write epics and features in support of the defined roadmap, working with partners to prioritize across teams.
  • Set Planning Increment (PI) vision, priority and definition, partnering with product owners on feature prioritization and delivery timelines.
  • Develop feature backlog roadmap, leading high level deliverables including discovery, prototypes/wireframes, usability studies, partner demos, and web analytics planning.
  • Obtain partner alignment and approvals including legal, compliance, security, fraud and others as needed.
  • Partner to set Pricing and ensure billing follows all associated processes and procedures.
  • Create and track product metrics to inform strategy and roadmap, sharing analysis with partners.
  • Work with Readiness to create client and teammate facing content.
  • Risk management: Ensure all Product Management Lifecycle (PML) process & procedures are followed, supporting security, risk, audit, and more, and ensure action items and deadlines are met. Support risk presentations, working with other PM and PO partners on evidence to support recommendations.
  • Attend Agile ceremonies, as applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors’ degree in business, engineering, design, or technology field; or related field or equivalent combination of education and professional experience

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Comfortable managing concurrent projects in a fast-based, results-driven environment
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, leading work autonomously, and making independent decisions
  • Excellent skills in presentation, facilitation, communication, and negotiation
  • Experience in roles requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills & the creation and delivery of succinct presentations to explain and sell plans/vision
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using modern AI-enabled tools to accelerate insight generation, concept development, prototyping, and product discovery activities
  • Demonstrated ability to use data, analytics, client feedback, performance trends, and fluency with AI tools to identify opportunities, diagnose issues, and recommend action plans.
  • Previous experience working as a Product Manager for Agile team(s)
  • Experience working with distributed teams (onshore/offshore)
  • Certified SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager (or equivalent)
