Job description

About This Role

As a Product Manager at Apex, you will own features within a product and drive their end-to-end delivery—from discovery through launch and iteration. You will translate insights into clear requirements, prioritize the feature backlog, partner with design and engineering, and measure outcomes to improve customer experience and business results under the guidance of senior product leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own feature-level delivery within a product: drive discovery, write clear PRDs/user stories, and define acceptance criteria and success metrics.
  • Maintain and prioritize the feature backlog; align work to the product roadmap and OKRs; plan sprints and clarify scope for the team.
  • Partner with design and engineering to explore solution options, estimate work, sequence milestones, and remove day‑to‑day blockers.
  • Run lightweight research and experiments (interviews, prototypes, usability tests) to validate assumptions and refine requirements.
  • Instrument features and build basic dashboards; monitor adoption, quality, and satisfaction; iterate based on data and user feedback.
  • Coordinate releases and go‑to‑market support (release notes, enablement, rollout plans) with guidance from senior product leaders.
  • Ensure quality and operational readiness: define acceptance criteria, support QA/UAT, and maintain user guides and runbooks.
  • Identify and surface trade‑offs, risks, and dependencies early; escalated appropriately and drive clear decisions.
  • Communicate status, decisions, and changes to stakeholders; document rationale and maintain up‑to‑date product artifacts.
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related technical field.

  • 3–5 years in product management or adjacent roles (e.g., product analyst, UX, delivery) in a technology environment.
  • Demonstrated experience owning feature delivery end-to-end (discovery, PRDs/user stories, launch, iteration).
  • Experience collaborating with engineering and design and participating in Agile ceremonies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Product discovery and user empathy: runs interviews, synthesizes insights, validates assumptions.
  • Requirements and backlog management: clear PRDs/user stories, acceptance criteria, backlog hygiene.
  • Data literacy: defines feature metrics, instruments basic analytics, makes data-informed decisions.
  • Technical fluency: understands API basics, UX principles, and delivery constraints; collaborates with engineering and design.
  • Communication and collaboration: clear written/verbal communication; aligns partners; surfaces risks early.
  • Execution discipline: Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, iterative delivery; reliable follow-through.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recognized Agile/Product certification (e.g., CSPO/PSPO/PSM or equivalent).
  • Experience in high-growth or startup environments.
  • Basic SQL/analytics and instrumentation; ability to build simple dashboards.
  • Familiarity with web technologies and APIs; comfortable collaborating on developer-facing documentation.
Benefits
  • Healthcare benefits (medical, dental and vision, EAP).
  • Competitive PTO, 401(k) match, parental leave, and HSA contribution match.
  • Paid subscription to the Calm app.
  • Generous external learning and tuition reimbursement benefits.
  • Hybrid work schedule for most roles, with flexibility to work from home.
