Job description

The Product Manager is responsible for the overall success of the Palantir platform for an assigned customer. This includes defining the product vision, setting priorities, managing the roadmap, leading deployment, driving user adoption, and ensuring the platform delivers measurable customer and mission outcomes.

Acting as the bridge between the customer, technical teams, and platform capabilities, the Product Manager will work closely with users and senior stakeholders to understand mission priorities, uncover high-impact challenges, and translate those needs into a clear product strategy and actionable delivery plan.

  • Define and own the product vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap for the customer’s Palantir platform.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer missions, operational processes, pain points, and strategic objectives.
  • Identify the highest-impact problems the platform can solve and prioritize investments accordingly.
  • Define and maintain the MVP thesis, including scope, desired outcomes, initial product direction, and path to value.
  • Establish measurable success criteria and use customer feedback, adoption metrics, and mission outcomes to continuously refine priorities.
  • Maintain a product roadmap that aligns customer needs with technical feasibility, resources, and mission priorities.
Deployment & Delivery
  • Manage the full product lifecycle from initial deployment and onboarding through production operations and continuous improvement.
  • Translate customer needs into clearly defined product capabilities, initiatives, and prioritized backlog items.
  • Lead regular prioritization efforts to keep engineering teams focused on the highest-value initiatives.
  • Establish clear requirements, acceptance criteria, success metrics, and expected outcomes.
  • Partner closely with engineers and technical specialists to ensure solutions are appropriately designed and successfully delivered.
  • Maintain enough technical understanding to evaluate implementation options, make informed tradeoffs, and resolve delivery obstacles.
  • Oversee releases, testing, deployment, user validation, and transition into ongoing operations.
  • Continuously evaluate product performance and identify opportunities to improve usability, adoption, reliability, and mission impact.
  • Develop strong, trusted relationships with users, operators, technical teams, and senior customer leaders.
  • Represent the customer’s priorities and ensure they are reflected in product strategy and roadmap decisions.
  • Conduct user discovery to understand real-world workflows and convert operational challenges into actionable product opportunities.
  • Drive adoption beyond the initial deployment and develop power users who can independently leverage the platform.
  • Demonstrate platform capabilities and communicate product progress, outcomes, priorities, and future direction to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Identify organizational, technical, and operational obstacles to adoption and develop strategies to overcome them.
Platform Strategy & Technical Alignment
  • Translate complex operational challenges into solutions using Palantir capabilities such as Ontology, Pipeline Builder, Workshop, Object Explorer, Quiver, Code Repositories, and AIP.
  • Determine when existing platform capabilities should be configured versus when new applications, workflows, or functionality should be developed.
  • Establish reusable product patterns and standards that improve consistency and accelerate future deployments.
  • Work with technical leadership to ensure the platform is scalable, maintainable, and aligned with customer architecture and governance requirements.
  • Document lessons learned and create reusable accelerators that can improve future product development and deployments.
Growth & Expansion
  • Identify additional use cases, user groups, and mission areas where the platform can provide measurable value.
  • Use demonstrated product outcomes and strong customer relationships to expand adoption across the organization.
  • Identify expansion opportunities based on validated customer needs and demonstrated value rather than speculative feature development.
  • Develop compelling cases for additional capabilities and investments by connecting product expansion to measurable mission and operational outcomes.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience owning a product, platform, deployment, or complex technical solution from strategy through execution.
  • Deep, hands-on experience with the Palantir platform, particularly Foundry.
  • Strong understanding of Foundry’s core capabilities and how they can be combined to address complex operational challenges.
  • Experience defining product vision, roadmaps, priorities, success metrics, and measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments with incomplete or evolving requirements.
  • Strong customer-facing, communication, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both senior executives and technical engineering teams.
  • Strong technical fluency across architecture, data models, pipelines, applications, integrations, and engineering tradeoffs.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive user adoption, organizational change, and sustained platform utilization.
  • Experience working with government, defense, public safety, or other mission-critical organizations is strongly preferred.
  • Active security clearance or immediate eligibility to obtain one.
  • Military, special operations, law enforcement, or other operational experience is valued but not required.
