The Workplace Retirement Products team manages Edward Jones' workplace retirement offering, including employer-sponsored retirement plans and relationships with recordkeepers, third-party administrators (TPAs), custodians, and other retirement service providers. The team leads and coordinates the firm's workplace retirement product and distribution strategy, manages key partner relationships, and ensures practice teams have access to high-quality retirement plan solutions, resources, and support.

Through innovation, strategic partnership management, and deep subject matter expertise, the team helps position branch teams to effectively serve business owners, plan sponsors, and retirement plan participants while aligning with the firm's advice and guidance philosophy.

The Product Manager plays a critical role in advancing this strategy through cross-functional collaboration, partner relationship management, content development, and delivery of initiatives that enhance branch team capabilities and client experiences.

What You'll Do

  • Execute the firm's Workplace Retirement Products strategy to ensure branch teams have access to high-quality retirement plan solutions, service provider support, and educational resources needed to help clients achieve their retirement and business goals.

  • Manage strategic relationships with recordkeepers, TPAs, custodians, and other retirement service providers, collaborating on business planning, service enhancements, product capabilities, issue resolution, and ongoing relationship management.

  • Serve as a key subject matter expert on workplace retirement plans and the broader retirement plan ecosystem, including plan design, administration, fiduciary considerations, participant outcomes, and industry trends.

  • Partner with Practice Management, Training, and other internal stakeholders to develop content, resources, and learning experiences that build branch team acumen and confidence in serving retirement plan sponsors and participants.

  • Collaborate on the design, development, and execution of innovative solutions by gathering insights, conducting analysis, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to improve workplace retirement products, processes, and service experiences.

  • Collaborate on the design, development, and execution of integrated platforms, systems, tools, and processes that support retirement plan business growth and enhance both client and branch team experiences.

  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, tax, and industry developments affecting workplace retirement plans and retirement service providers, helping the firm evaluate impacts and respond appropriately.

  • Influence partner strategy and roadmap discussions to ensure external provider capabilities align with firm objectives, client needs, and advisor expectations.

  • Evaluate partner performance and industry offerings, identifying opportunities to improve product capabilities, service delivery, operational efficiency, and overall value proposition.

  • Represent Workplace Retirement Products in cross-divisional initiatives, industry events, partner meetings, and additional team responsibilities such as training, content development, and strategic projects.

Expertise and Impact

  • Deep understanding of workplace retirement plans, including 401(k), profit-sharing, and related defined contribution plan structures.

  • Strong knowledge of the retirement plan service provider landscape, including recordkeepers, TPAs, custodians, and fiduciary support organizations.

  • Ability to translate complex retirement industry concepts into practical guidance, training, and business-building resources for advisors and branch teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage strategic partner relationships while influencing outcomes across internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to lead initiatives across multiple business functions.

This role combines product strategy, partner management, industry expertise, and advisor enablement to help grow the firm's workplace retirement business and deliver meaningful outcomes for plan sponsors, participants, and branch teams.

What Experience You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree required; quantitative disciplines preferred (finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, engineering, actuarial science, etc.).

  • Series 7, 66, and life/health license required within 12 months of hire.

  • Progress toward an advanced degree or relevant industry designation(s) preferred.
