Job Description

Our client is a U.S.-based manufacturer of integrated security and access control solutions, serving dealers and integrators with purpose-built hardware and software systems. The company designs and produces its products domestically, with a focus on reliability, innovation, and long-term partnerships in the electronic security

We have been engaged to find the Product Manager for Video Solutions. This person will lead the intersection of technology, design, user experience and business profitability to deliver video products and services that seamlessly interface with the platform.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Be a transformational leader. Lead a no-direct report team of engineers through a fast-paced environment responsible for product development activities from inception to production. Coach, teach, mentor team members in a manner which builds trust, collaboration, and breaks down barriers.
  • Manage internal and external customer expectations and communications. The primary goal of the Video Solutions Product Manager will be to successfully build and manage customer relationships, communications, and expectations to reduce risk to the company utilizing effective communication.
  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with engineering, upper management, and external customers.
  • The Video Solutions Product Manager will effectively communicate with both internal and external customers providing clear direction, planning, clarification, guidance, decisions, status, and issue resolution. Success criteria for this position will be submitting and presenting to senior management weekly product updates and detailed specifications.
  • Develops a deep understanding of the company’s products by; working with other product managers, dealer visits and discussions to identify and fill product gaps while generating new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
  • Conducts market research that includes customers, competitors, employees, sales, and marketing teams. Analyze the industry by attending IPVM seminars, knowing other manufacturers and their products.
  • Creates buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
  • Prioritizes activities based on business and customer impact.
  • Works closely with the Project Manager and cross-functional teams to deliver quality products, services, training, and support with quick time-to-market.
  • Drives product launches. Sets and publishes launch dates.
  • Evaluates promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with the product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed. Acts as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.
  • Takes care of the customer, fast!
Required Experience / Skills

●5+ years experience in security system manufacturing (video preferred).

●Strong technical expertise in video surveillance systems, networking and infrastructure and AI & Analytics.

●Current CPM (Certified Product Manager) through AIPMM or equivalent organization is a plus.

●Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle is preferred.

●Skilled at working effectively with cross‑functional teams in an organization.

●Experience building product roadmaps and balancing technical feasibility, customer requirements and regulatory constraints. Driven by deadlines.

●Strong knowledge in cybersecurity and compliance as they relate to video monitoring.

●Excellent presentation skills to large and small, demanding technical audiences.

●Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing and/or proven work experience in product management.
