Job summary

Check is seeking an entrepreneurial Product Manager to lead the discovery and definition of key components within our system, building the most powerful payroll infrastructure for our embedded payroll platform. You will dive deep into our technology stack, learn payroll and tax systems, and design scalable infrastructure that sets a new standard for reliability and efficiency.

The Work

We're looking for an entrepreneurial Product Manager to lead the discovery and definition of key components within our system, helping us build the most powerful payroll infrastructure and make paying people simple for the businesses our partners serve. This role requires a leader who is excited to dive deep into our technology stack, learn the ins and outs of payroll and tax systems, and design scalable infrastructure that sets a new standard for reliability and efficiency in the payroll industry. You'll collaborate closely with Check leadership, engineers, internal teams, and our partners to deliver innovative, high-impact products that advance the future of embedded payroll.

In This Role, You Will
  • Define and prioritize projects that make our payroll infrastructure more powerful and more resilient as we scale

Many backgrounds could fit this role, but ideal candidates will have some or all of the following

Travel & Office Policy

The Check team is distributed across the US. Roles can be remote, hybrid, or based in one of our offices in New York City or San Francisco. We offer ample opportunities and encourage employees to attend team offsites, events, and hackathons throughout year. All Checketeers gather in the spring for our annual 3-day company retreat.

For our in-office and hybrid employees, our offices are open all week. We provide meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays and there are regular happy hours, game nights, and other in-person events.

Remote work at Check requires the ability to perform all responsibilities without distraction or disruption, while maintaining quality, effective communication, and productivity.
