Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Product Manager for Home Loans and Small Business to steer the end-to-end product lifecycle. You will conduct market research, analyze pricing scenarios, and collaborate across sales, operations, and customer support to deliver a unified customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and creates comprehensive plans for product development and deployment, including supporting the creation of sales training programs and marketing materials to educate clients and internal teams on product capabilities
  • Oversees a set of products and maintains financials, including managing the investment profile and P&L activities, such as revenue and profit margins
  • Provides information on product trends to sales and marketing teams leveraging knowledge of product functionality, marketplace trends, and the competitive landscape
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline or enhance product offerings to fit client’s existing and future needs and support continued growth and operational excellence
  • Manages risk through implementing and monitoring effective controls in partnership with key support partners
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to obtain meaningful insights about markets, clients, and competitors in order to develop products that solve client needs and ensure high adoption rates
  • Advanced knowledge of statistics and econometrics – must have the ability to work with modeling partners and understand model output and performance.
  • Joins multiple data sources and develop Tableau workbooks to provide visual analytics for product and pricing partners
  • Analyzes model output, portfolio data, transaction flows, and account profitability to evaluate scenarios and identify economic opportunities
  • Works across the Pricing and Product teams, as well as with Finance, Liquidity, Balance Sheet Management, Technology and Analytics, to evaluate and understand performance and to ensure alignment with corporate objectives
  • Self sufficient in conducting trend analysis and identify new opportunities utilizing large amounts of data, leveraging SAS/Python, SQL and Tableau
  • Serves as a SQL/Tableau subject matter expert (SME) for the team and partners
  • Presents visual analytics, client, and balance trends at the executive level
  • Some knowledge of corporate finance – P&L, Earnings and Expenses, FTP, and Balance Sheet Management.
  • Works with tech partners to ensure tech requirements for our models and analytics are met.

This job is responsible for managing the end-to-end product life cycle, including conducting market research and competitor analyses, determining product pricing, developing short and long-term strategies, identifying innovative opportunities to modernize product offerings and deliver a more unified customer experience, and adhering to the Product Risk Management policy. Job expectations may include ensuring that product management efforts are integrated with sales, marketing, operations, implementation, and customer service strategies.

The Product Manager is responsible for managing the relationship between the modeling teams and the pricing teams for consumer products. Responsibilities include development and research of model output, portfolio data, transaction flows, and account profitability to evaluate pricing scenarios and to identify economic opportunities related to the consumer portfolio while considering corporate objectives and constraints. This is a great opportunity to apply statistical, analytical, and visual skills to the largest Consumer Bank portfolio in the industry. Products include Consumer Vehicle Lending, Mortgages, HELOC, and Deposits. This role will focus on Home Loans and Small Business in particular. The ideal candidate will be an expert SQL developer with some database management background. with modeling expertise, great data and analytical skills and Python programming experience.

Required Qualifications
  • Modeling experience – regression, time series, ML – must have built or have been part of a team building and/or managing models.
  • SQL and Python developer with at least 5 years of experience building code/workbooks in any programming language
  • Strong database administration skills
  • Excellent query skills across a variety of platforms
  • Ability to assist staff data requests or troubleshooting
  • Ability to generate views and reports for executive level presentations
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically to drive product success
  • Ability to form strong partnerships with key stakeholders and work with them on initiatives; hold accountable when needed
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter who takes initiative, works independently, and escalates issues or concerns effectively
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to confidently present to senior leaders

  • Experience with price elasticity and price optimization models and their implementation on data platforms
  • Experience with MRM (Model Risk Management)

Pay range

$103,500.00 - $150,100.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
