  • Manages the planning, implementation, and ongoing support of products and services including lifecycles and alignment with business needs, customer requirements, and strategies.
  • Develops and implements strategies to support high-visibility, large-impact products and services including offerings, features, and designs; guides stakeholders.
  • Develops proposals for adopting new products and services to generate profitable volume; conducts cost and marketability analyses; collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Partners with development teams to determine feasibility and assess sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and system requirements; addresses limitations with stakeholders.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to design, implement, and support products; develops project plans, timelines, tracks costs, assigns tasks, and reports progress to stakeholders.
  • Leads development of new products; researches industry best practices, customer needs, and system capabilities; evaluates market competitiveness and efficiency.
  • Analyzes data from multiple sources and develops recommendations to improve products; presents actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Serves as a point of contact with mailing industry leaders and customer associations; communicates with external stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Presents at industry conferences and events to promote products and provide information on offerings, features, and designs.

Job description

Serves as a product owner for multiple high visibility, large-impact mailing products and services that address customer needs and align with business strategies. Leads the development, implementation, execution, and coordination of product management strategies designed to support and promote the use of products and services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Manages the planning, implementation, and ongoing support of products and services including lifecycles, alignment with business needs and strategies, and customer requirements. Develops and implements strategies to support and enhance high-visibility, large impact products and services including offerings, features, and designs. Provides guidance and insights on current and new mailing products and services to stakeholders.
  2. Develops proposals for adopting and implementing new products and services designed to generate profitable volume and meet customer needs. Conducts business case analysis and external needs assessments to identify current costs and marketability of products and services. Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to develop recommendations on new products or improvements to existing products.
  3. Partners with development teams and internal stakeholders to determine the feasibility of products and services and evaluate if proposed designs are sustainable, cost-effective, and align with system requirements. Identifies potential limitations and constraints for products and services and collaborates with stakeholders to address and resolve discrepancies.
  4. Leads cross-functional teams to design, implement, and support products and services; provides direction and guidance to stakeholders on mailing product plans, designs, and goals. Develops project plans, timelines, tracks and maintains project costs, assigns tasks to others, and monitors progress towards goals. Identifies potential impacts and limitations on timely completion of activities. Prepares and presents status updates and related communications to stakeholders at various levels of the organization and with technical and non-technical audiences.
  5. Leads the development of new products and services; conducts research on industry best practices, customer needs, business requirements, and system capabilities. Evaluates the effectiveness, market competitiveness, and efficiency of proposed products.
  6. Analyzes data from multiple external and internal sources and develops recommendations to improve products and services. Develops and presents actionable recommendations to leadership regarding improvements for mailing products and services including benefits, limitations, strategies, pricing, and revenue generation.
  7. Serves as a point of contact with mailing industry leaders and major customer associations regarding products and services. Communicates and collaborates with external stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions based on market conditions.
  8. Presents at industry conferences and events to promote products and provide related information including offerings, features, and designs.
  9. Leads the development and maintenance of standards, processes, policies, and procedures for developing, implementing, and providing ongoing support for mailing products. Develops and updates training materials and content regarding mailing products for a variety of target audiences.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledge of product management principles and procedures sufficient to guide the development, testing and coordination of the implementation of new products and services.
  • Ability to lead others, which includes assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, monitoring progress, measuring results and delivering feedback to ensure business objectives are met in a timely and quality manner.
  • Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of products and services sufficient to develop and implement recommendations for improvements in alignment with organizational strategies, business requirements, and customer needs.
  • Knowledge of product management principles, procedures, standards, and industry best practices sufficient to manage products and services and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with internal and external stakeholders including key representatives of industry and professional groups.
  • Ability to develop business cases for new business opportunities sufficient to develop and present large-scale, high-impact recommendations that incorporate customer needs, market conditions, and financial analysis.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing to prepare and present briefings, reports, executive summaries, and other communications to internal and external customers in a manner tailored to the audience.
  • Ability to lead large-scale projects to develop products, services, and programs from ideation to completion including resource estimating, communications, budgeting, project planning, tracking/oversight, scheduling tasks, negotiating deliverables, project administration, status reporting and monitoring completion of deliverables.
  • Ability to conduct data analysis including gathering data from multiple sources, identifying trends and insights, summarize results, and developing data-driven actionable recommendations for improvement.
