Job summary

Foodera Technologies is seeking a knowledgeable Product Lead in Idaho Falls to own equipment from design through startup. You will serve as the go‑to expert for assigned products, use customer feedback to drive improvements, and coordinate with customers and internal teams across design offices and shop floors.

The ideal candidate has a background in equipment design, 3D modeling, and plant-environment experience.

Qualifications

  • Specialized drafting training or equivalent hands-on experience required
  • Mechanical engineering degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in equipment design or engineering
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of food processing equipment, parts, and maintenance
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the SME and main contact for assigned products and equipment
  • Use feedback to plan updates and improvements
  • Develop and maintain base models and technical documentation
  • Perform 3D modeling and detailed design work
  • Complete equipment sizing calculations
  • Commission and start up equipment; train operators and maintenance teams
  • Maintain product manuals
  • Manage multiple projects to meet deadlines
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Adhere to shop and plant safety practices
  • Travel as needed for commissioning and customer needs
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a knowledgeable and self-directed Product Lead to become the go‑to expert on specific equipment within our product line. The ideal candidate has a strong background in equipment design, is skilled in 3D modeling, and understands how food processing equipment performs in real-world plant environments. You enjoy owning a product from design through startup, using customer feedback to drive improvements, and serving as a trusted resource for customers and internal teams.
This role is ideal for someone who can juggle several projects at once, works well with little supervision, and is comfortable moving between the design office, the shop floor, and customer sites. This position requires travel as needed.

Job Responsibilities

Desired Education and Experience
  • Specialized drafting training, such as an associate degree or equivalent hands‑on experience, required; mechanical engineering degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in equipment design or engineering
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of and experience with food processing equipment, parts, and maintenance
  • Team leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident, positive approach to customer support
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work safely in plant environments, wear required PPE, and drive for extended periods
