Job summary

The LEGO Group in Chester, VA is seeking a Manufacturing Process professional to join our operations team. Starting pay is $31.60/hour with a Mon-Fri schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

You will work with engineering to introduce new packing products, define routings, and support improvement projects to optimize production. Ideal candidates have 3-5 years of manufacturing experience with an associate degree in a technical field, strong industrial engineering knowledge, and SAP familiarity.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of manufacturing experience with an associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent.
• Industrial Engineering knowledge including cycle time analysis, standard work, line balancing.
• Experience with production routings and standards.
• Ability to work both administratively and line-side to support operations.
• Strong problem solving; capable of training junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering by introducing novelties and first-time makes to operations.

• Define routings for efficient workflow and resource utilization.
• Support engineering on improvement projects with technical input.

Schedule: Admin (M - F, 8 AM - 4:30 PM)

What You'll Do

• Assure engineering team in the proper introduction of novelties / first time makes to the operational area.
• Construct work descriptions for new packing products - detailing the equipment used, time required, sequence of events, and characteristics of the product as it relates to manufacturing
• Define routings for proper workflow through manufacturing and the utilization of assets and resources as each product is produced.
• Support Engineering for Improvement projects - provide input from technical side of the process and product impacts.
• Identifying/documenting operational control standards to meet the requirements of production (production rates, efficiencies, compatibility with equipment, etc.)
• Identify opportunity areas to improve processes or routings
• Identify risks and deviations in introduction process - and assist with mitigations or corrections of these risks and deviations

Basic Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing with an associate’s degree in technical field or additional experience in lieu of degree.
• Industrial Engineering knowledge - Cycle time analysis, standard work, line balancing
• Experience with production routings and standards
• Ability to work both administratively from a computer in addition to line-side support, as the business requires.
• Applies solid problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues for a substantial amount of overall effort and is relied upon to train and assist junior staff.
• Demonstrates advanced written, interpersonal, technical, quality, internal/external customer service, and/or application skills. Independently resolves most issues and complex matters, properly escalating highly complex problems or out of guideline/policy issues.

Compensation

The salary for this position has a range of $31.60 - $31.60 based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalisation of the employment offer.
