Job summary

KLA is seeking a Product Installation Engineer to install and qualify advanced KLA systems at customer sites worldwide, ensuring schedule and quality standards are met. You will diagnose issues, calibrate equipment, and transfer tool ownership with engineering and regional teams.

Travel is extensive to support installations globally, with independence and adherence to documented procedures. Strong problem‑solving, communication, and cross‑cultural collaboration are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of electronics, optics, mechanical, electro‑mechanical, and electro‑optical systems.
  • Experience with high‑vacuum systems strongly preferred.
  • Comfort working with computer systems, operating systems, and networking (Windows, Unix, or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Install and qualify advanced KLA systems at customer sites globally, ensuring installations are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during installation by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Perform setup, alignment, calibration, and verification of highly complex semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with KLA regions, engineering, and customer teams to verify system performance and transfer tool ownership.
  • Provide clear status updates to all stakeholders throughout the installation process.
  • Complete installation documentation and administrative requirements accurately and on time.
  • Secure warranty sign‑off on newly installed tools.
  • Extend travel to support installations domestically and internationally.

The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. At KLA, our Product Installation Engineers (IEs) are the critical first connection between our customers and their new, highly advanced equipment. This role is instrumental in shaping the customer’s first—and lasting—impression of KLA products, services, and technical excellence.

What You’ll Do:
  • Install and qualify advanced KLA systems at customer sites globally, ensuring installations are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.

  • Extensive travel domestically and internationally to support customer installations worldwide.
What You Bring (Qualifications):
  • Strong knowledge of electronics, optics, mechanical, electro‑mechanical, and electro‑optical systems.
  • Experience with high‑vacuum systems strongly preferred.
  • Comfort working with computer systems, operating systems, and networking (Windows, Unix, or similar environments).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly self‑motivated, organized, and detail‑oriented.
  • Able to work effectively across cultures, functions, and geographies.
  • Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years.

Base Pay Range

$27.46 - $46.69 Per Hour
