Job summary

Tyson Foods is hiring a Product Inspector for the 1st shift at the Kansas City Plant in Kansas City, KS. The role focuses on ready-to-eat quality checks, packaging verification, and line-side problem solving to support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 months of machine or packer operator experience and at least 6 months of continuous work within the last 3 years, with physical requirements including lifting up to 25 lbs and

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 months of machine or packer operator experience.
• Minimum of 6 months of continuous work in the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• LEAN Manufacturing: participate in line-side problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace per 5S/Andon standards.
• Ensure correct packaging by verifying labels, film, and carton are USDA approved and accurate.
• Document film, case, cardstock, code date, and GTIN at shift start, changes, and end of shift.
• Check vision system cameras and conduct metal detection checks to minimize product risk.
• Perform oxygen checks and Checkweigher/Reject checks hourly on RTE packages.
• Weigh rework on a floor scale via HMI and operate a handheld scanner.
