Job summary

Fastenal is seeking a Product Handling Lead to manage day-to-day operations in our Indianapolis distribution center. You will guide the flow of product, consolidate inventory, restock locations, and move goods through the facility while ensuring accuracy and safety.

The role requires leadership, teamwork, and a focus on health, safety, and sustainability while meeting performance goals. Onboarding may lead to a flexible schedule after an initial period.

Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals to work in our fast pace warehouse! Working as Full-time Product Handling Lead, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the Product Handling department. You will help facilitate the movement of product throughout the distribution center to company owned branches. You will consolidate product, restock locations and move inventory within the distribution center. You will provide guidance to ensure operations are completed correctly, efficiently and on time. RESPONSIBLITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Leading and training team members
• Communicating with employees and branches
• Consolidating product
• Restocking product
• Moving inventory throughout the distribution center
• Maintain the cleanliness/organization of work area
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

• 18 years of age or older
• Proficient written and oral communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Lead and motivate a team of employees
• Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed

• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience operating a forklift
