Job summary

SPX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Product Engineer Intern to contribute to real-world projects across R&D, product development, mechanical and electrical design, and engineering support for electric heating solutions.

You will work on design, testing, documentation, and process improvements, collaborating with engineers and cross-functional teams to drive quality, innovation, and hands-on learning in a hybrid office setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design & Development
• Assist in preparing engineering drawings, schematics, and documentation.
• Support prototype builds, modifications, and testing activities.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Testing & Experimentation
• Participate in lab or field testing of components and products.
• Operate test equipment and record accurate data for analysis.
• Document test results and provide input on product performance and improvements.
• Project & Process Support
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance product design, manufacturability, or efficiency.
• Assist with engineering change documentation and project tracking.
• Support sourcing, materials evaluation, or supplier collaboration efforts.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams to address engineering challenges.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, presentations, or updates for leadership.
• Learn to navigate project lifecycles from concept through testing and production.

Required Experience

• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Experience with business systems (e.g., ERP/CRM/CPQ) or analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) is a plus.

Education & Certifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
