Job description

Product Engineer – Surface and Color Development

Full‑time position.

Responsibilities

• Develop surface and color solutions for automotive interior and exterior trim components.
• Determine color, gloss and surface pattern issues on interior trim surfaces.
• Apply PEP applicable surface and color development tools and techniques such as DFMEA, DVP&R, appearance and approval submissions, CAD, and corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit appearance and approval documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support product development.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years automotive industry experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in wood technology, color development chemistry, or a related field.
• Experience with wood deco, wood surface treatments, stains, sealers and color development.
• Experience with automotive interior/exterior trim components.
• Bilingual in English and German or English and Spanish.
• Proficiency in DFMEA, DVP&R, appearance submission, CAD and corrective actions.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.
