Job summary

National Oilwell Varco in Houston, TX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 3–5 years of oil field and piping experience to review applications and ensure products meet designs and performance specifications.

You will perform engineering calculations, develop pipe sizing and flow verifications, prepare tender packages, provide technical training, visit job sites to resolve issues, and draft models and drawings for the machine shop.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science from an accredited college or university.
• 3–5 years of oil field and/or piping experience; knowledge of nonmetallic/composite materials.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills; travel required.

Responsibilities

• Review applications and ensure products meet technical requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations including pipe properties, sizing, and flow.
• Prepare technical packages for tenders and organize tender documents.
• Provide technical training and support to customers and staff.
• Visit job sites to resolve design and field issues.
• Design and draft models and drawings for the machine shop; support manufacturing.
