Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Euclid, OH is seeking a Product Engineer-PDS to resolve production and field issues on sustaining aerospace fuel pump designs. The role reports to the Post Development Support Engineering Manager and involves cross-functional collaboration to drive product improvements.

The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree, is within 50 miles of Euclid, and has aerospace experience. Six Sigma DFSS certification is a plus and relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• Must reside within 50 miles of Euclid, OH; export-controlled information; U.S. person per regulations; no immigration sponsorship.
• Preferred Six Sigma (DMAIC) or DFSS certification.
• Aerospace experience is preferred (co-op or intern acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timely and cost-effective responses to technical inquiries from customers and end users for in-service products.
• Define work tasks for support personnel and prepare reports with conclusions and corrective actions; collaborate with Supply Chain, Customer Service and Quality on product improvements.
• Interface with customers and internal teams (Test Lab, Production, MRO) to review fielded pumps.
• Report technical program metrics according to Eaton Aerospace standards.
• Provide Manufacturing Cell support to ensure timely disposition of non-conforming hardware without compromising final product quality.
• Apply Design for Six Sigma principles in project execution.

Eaton’s AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a Product Engineer-PDS. This is a full time position based at our Euclid, OH manufacturing facility.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

The Product Engineer- PDS (Post Development Support) is responsible for the resolution of production product design problems and field return design problems on sustaining (current production) fuel component designs. Typical products include main engine feed and airframe pumps for military and commercial aerospace applications. The incumbent will report to the Post Development Support Engineering Manager. Additional responsibilities will also include support of Quality and Reliability with the creation of Product Investigation Plans (PIP) of fielded pumps.

• Coordinates timely and cost-effective responses to technical inquiries from Customers and end users for products in service, including investigations to establish root cause of reported problems.
• Defines required work tasks for support personnel and prepares clear and concise reports documenting conclusions and recommended corrective actions. In conjunction, works with Supply Chain, Customer Service and Quality to define Product Improvement changes which can drive aftermarket and cost-out opportunities.
• Interfaces with Customers and internal functions (Test Lab, Production and MRO) to review fielded fuel pumps.
• Reports technical program metrics in accordance with Eaton Aerospace Common Engineering Standards.
• Provides Manufacturing Cell support as assigned by Engineering Management to ensure timely disposition of non-conforming hardware without sacrificing final product quality that could lead to operational deficiencies in the field.
• Utilizes the principles of Design for Six Sigma.

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution and/or candidates with a graduation date by December 2026.
• This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Desired 6 month to 2 years Aerospace Experience (Co-op or Intern experience is applicable)
• Six Sigma (DMAIC) or Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) certification
