Job summary

Smart Energy Water, a leader in cloud platforms for energy, water and gas providers, is seeking a .NET software engineer to join our team in Irvine. You will develop enterprise-grade web applications, translate designs into code, and work within an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver scalable solutions.

The role requires strong C#, .NET Core, SQL, and experience with Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes, plus a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Proven experience coding in .NET; strong C# and LINQ skills.
• Experience with relational DB design, SQL, and ORM.
• Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum development.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services.
• Experience with large data sets and Big Data concepts.
• Version control using Git.

Responsibilities

• Participate in requirements analysis, planning, and stand-ups.
• Collaborate with internal teams to design and architect software.
• Develop new reusable components and web-based UIs.
• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
• Write clean, scalable code and ensure optimal performance.
• Test, deploy, debug, and improve applications; fix bottlenecks.
• Develop documentation throughout the SDLC and provide expert support.

Qualifications

• Participate in requirements analysis, Planning, and Stand-Ups.
• Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture.
• Responsible for the development of new reusable components, and web-based user interfaces.
• Work with product team and graphic designers, translating designs and wireframes to high-quality code.
• Strong expertise in functional programming and design patterns.
• Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages.
• Test and deploy applications and systems.
• Revise, update, refactor, and debug code.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues.
• Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support when required.

Technical Skills Required

• 4+ years of experience in Microsoft .NET core
• Strong knowledge of C#, .NET Core, EE, LINQ.
• Experience with database development including relational database design, SQL, bigdata and ORM
• Experience with working in an Agile/Scrum development project
• Knowledge about JIRA/ similar project management tool
• Experience with Azure will be a big plus
• Experience with big data will be a big plus
• GIT-based repository
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience designing and developing enterprise grade software
• Experience with source control management systems and deployment environment
• Experience with debugging, performance profiling and optimization.
• Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service- oriented application development, techniques, and theories
• Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment
• Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders
• Experience with user interface design and prototyping.
