Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer in Boulder, CO to serve in both design and sustaining engineering roles for current and new products.

You will lead product-improvement projects, test and qualify hardware, firmware and telecom components, and support manufacturing and purchasing teams with quality issues. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in EE or equivalent with 4+ years in engineering, and at least 3 years in product design/test/manufacturing, plus strong RF,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with at least four years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
• At least three years in product design, test and manufacturing engineering.
• Experience with vendor/contractor management.
• Knowledge of RF and portable power circuits; analog and digital electronics.
• Ability to design flex, rigid and rigid-flex PCBs.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills with diverse audiences.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.

Summary

Serves in both a design and sustaining engineering capacity in support of new and existing Company products. Acts as a team lead on product improvement projects, which are usually less than six months in duration. Tests and qualifies new or modified products, and provides engineering support for the manufacturing and purchasing teams with ongoing quality issues

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Takes a lead role on individual projects to resolve quality issues and design and implement product
• Provides technical assistance to the manufacturing, quality, and purchasing teams in support of released Company products. Manages product returns, performs failure analysis, determines root causes of issues and develops product upgrades and process improvements.
• Identifies field performance issues with Company products either by internal data gathering or direct customer contact. Develops solutions to eliminate or minimize them.
• Provides technical assistance to the Sales and Marketing Departments, as requested, by researching new technology and providing technical support to customers.
• Designs or supports the design and implementation of new products, with a focus on hardware, firmware and telecommunications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or at least four years of progressively responsible experience in an engineering discipline.
• At least three years of experience in product design, test and manufacturing engineering.
• Three experience with vendor and/or contractor management.
• Knowledge of and experience with radio frequency and portable power circuits.
• Knowledge of and experience with analog and digital electronics.
• Ability to efficiently design flex PCB’s, rigid PCB’s and rigid-flex PCB’s
• Ability to identify and analyze problems and develop solutions.
