JotPsych is hiring a Product Engineer Intern for summer 2027 in Brooklyn, NY. You will ship features end-to-end from UI to backend to database, aligning with clinician workflows and real-world use.

You'll learn rapidly with a mentor, a defined project scope, and weekly 1:1 feedback. Expect hands-on production code, PR reviews, and collaboration across engineers, designers, and clinicians.

Formación

• Pursuing CS or related discipline, graduating in 2027 or 2028.

• Shipped real software outside of class, in personal projects, hackathons, or internships.
• Ability to turn rough ideas into working software and ask good questions.

Responsabilidades

• Feature delivery from idea through PR to production with support.
• Partner with engineers, designers, and clinicians to ship user-facing improvements.
• Connect frontend UI to backend services: APIs, async jobs, realtime updates.
• Develop internal tooling to speed up team workflows (admin views, QA utilities).
• Emphasize tests, debugging, and thoughtful refactors to improve the codebase.

JotPsych makes software for behavioral health clinicians. Our scribe has drafted more than 3.1 million patient notes. We build software designed for people to spend less time using it, and we're expanding from the note into billing, scheduling, e-prescribing, and the rest of the work that keeps clinicians from their patients.

We're hiring a Product Engineer Intern for summer 2027 to ship real features in those products.

The role

You'll take rough product ideas and ship them end-to-end, UI to backend to database to prompt, translating messy clinic workflows into smooth, intuitive software.

We expect an intern to learn fast. We'll pair you with a mentor, set a clear project scope on day one, and run a weekly 1:1 on what you're learning. You'll write production code, review PRs, and ship to real clinicians.

What you'd work on

• Feature delivery. Take a scoped feature from "what should this do?" through PR and into production, with support.
• Product iteration. Partner with engineers, designers, and clinicians to ship user-facing improvements.
• Integration. Connect frontend UI to backend services: APIs, async jobs, realtime updates.
• Internal tooling. Build small tools that make our team and our clinics operate faster (admin views, QA utilities, eval helpers).
• Engineering fundamentals. Tests, debugging, thoughtful refactors. Make the code base better than you found it.

What you'd learn

• How a real product team ships every week.
• How to reason about trade-offs: UX vs. reliability, scope vs. time.
• How modern AI-powered product experiences work end-to-end (no prior LLM "expert" experience required).

Who you probably are

• You're a junior or senior in CS or a related discipline, graduating in 2027 or 2028.
• You can work 40 hours a week in person at the Brooklyn Navy Yard for summer 2027.
• You've shipped real software outside of class: personal projects, hackathons, research, internships.
• You ask good questions and turn rough ideas into working software.

Nice to have

• React, TypeScript, Python, or SQL experience
• Familiarity with any cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) or basic DevOps concepts
• Interest in healthcare, AI, language models, or security

We'll teach you the ones you haven't used.

Logistics

• In person 5 days a week at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York City.
• Summer 2027, 40 hours a week.
• $25/hour.
