Job description

Axiro Semiconductor is a fabless semiconductor design company headquartered in Bengaluru, driving innovation in RF, wireless infrastructure, satellite communication (Satcom), and high-speed connectivity solutions. Backed by CG Power & Industrial Solutions Ltd. part of the 120-year-old Murugappa Group. Axiro represents India’s leap into the global semiconductor arena. With millions of chips already powering global networks, a world-class team across India, the US, and Europe, and cutting-edge expertise spanning RF, mmWave, GaN, and next-generation communication technologies, Axiro is engineering the future of how the world connects, computes, and communicates.

Role Overview:

The Product Engineer owns the qualification and production release of mmWave semiconductor products from post-silicon validation through high-volume manufacturing. This role drives qualification planning and execution in close collaboration with design, validation, test, foundry, packaging, and product engineering teams. Success requires deep expertise in semiconductor qualification methodology, JEDEC reliability standards, and the ability to lead cross-functional efforts with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage beamformer products through the Axiro new product introduction (NPI) process from product compliance to production release.
  • Develop and implement qualification plans based on the datasheet and the JEDEC standards.
  • Drive measurements/data collection and statistical analysis for Characterization, Qualification, Correlation, Production Test Limit setting, and other specialized testing for datasheet parameters.
  • Generate post-silicon characterization, bench-to-ATE correlation, and ATE test limit plans for new products based on Axiro guidelines and JEDEC standards.
  • Create and manage product BOMs PLM.
  • Review NPI-related hardware designs.
  • Review ATE test data and perform root cause analysis of any reliability failures using statistical tools, like JMP.
  • Cost reduction via yield improvement and test time reduction.
  • Excursion management (Low yield and RMAs).
  • Validate production test systems.
  • Continually explore opportunities to improve the NPI process. Focus areas include streamlining test, qualification, and characterization plans and strategies, reducing documentation overhead, and leveraging NPI efficiencies such as Qualification by Similarity (QBS).
  • Hold regular meetings with stakeholders, assigning tasks, and failure debug sessions to ensure timely and high-quality product release.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • A bachelor's or an MS in electrical engineering with 10-15 years of experience in post-silicon characterization and reliability testing.
  • In-depth knowledge of semiconductor characterization, qualification, and reliability tests, including ESD/Latch-up, HTOL, ELFR, TC, bHAST, uHAST, etc.
  • Strong failure analysis (FA) techniques to diagnose and improve analog/mixed-signal ICs and modules.
  • Knowledge of statistical tools like JMP and experience in handling and presenting large datasets in a meaningful fashion.
  • Knowledge of IC manufacturing processes, including fab, assembly, and test.
  • Experience in bringing new products from definition to production release, including characterization and reliability testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on bench testing experience with mmWave/RF measurement equipment (PNAs, signal analyzers, signal generators) and Python-based test automation with instruments & hardware interfaces (e.g., GPIB, USB, Ethernet, I2C/I3C/SPI) is highly desired.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects in parallel.
  • Critical thinking skills to troubleshoot a variety of challenging issues.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills are a must.
Performance Metrics & Success Indicators:
  • On-time product releases meeting quality, reliability, and compliance targets.
  • Demonstrated yield improvement and effective root cause resolution of test setup and reliability excursions.
