Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical/electrical/materials engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years experience in product management, engineering or applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication with engineers and sales teams.
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient CAD/solid modeling and MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Automation System product lines.
• Interact with customers and field sales during pre- and post-sale phases.
• Validate product changes against marketing requirements and product specs.
• Assist in development of product specifications, strategies, and marketing materials.
• Create technical marketing content and application notes for campaigns.
• Conduct testing and analysis of competitive products.
• Support seminars, workshops, trade shows and sales meetings.
• Develop technical presentations for customers and sales staff; support product launches.

Job description

The Product Engineers enables sales success for the Automation System product lines by providing, in a timely manner, competitively superior technical solutions and responses to requests from internal and external customers. Responsibilities include various aspects of Product Management, Technical Training, Sales Support, and Product Promotion. Extensive direct customer and sales force engagement is required. Domestic and international travel is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Technical support of Automation System product lines.
• Communicate with customers and field sales staff during the pre-sale and post-sale phases to understand application needs, providing responses in coordination with Field Sales, Engineering, and Applications Lab.
• Validate new products against marketing requirements; review and recommend product changes
• Assist Product Manager with development and review of product specifications and sales and marketing strategies.
• Assist in the development of technical marketing materials including datasheets and application articles. Provide solution and application inputs to marketing for generating communications and collateral materials.
• Testing and analysis of competitive products.
• Provide technical support for seminars, workshops, trade shows and sales meetings.
• Develop technical materials for presentation to customers and sales representatives supporting product launches and ongoing sales efforts.
• Provide project management support to Engineering and Manufacturing Departments.
• Provide technical information support to Customer Service.
• Other projects and activities as assigned by management team.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in specifying, operating, designing, or maintaining equipment for industrial production and automation.
• BS Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Material Science Engineering or equivalent required.
• 3 to 5 years' experience in Product Management, Engineering or Applications.
• Strong organization skills, excellent customer service approach, can-do attitude,
• Excellent communications skills, including writing and presenting technical product and service information to engineers, operators, and senior business managers
• Ability to research and solve technical problems for internal and external customers.
• Superior time management and follow-though with ability to accomplish day-to-day tasks while continuing to make progress, and bring to completion, longer term projects.
• EXCEL, WORD, and CAD experience, preferably SolidWorks.
