Job summary

ND Defense LLC in Michigan is seeking a Vehicle Product Engineer to serve as the technical point of contact for our commercial military vehicle platform, from request for quote to vehicle delivery.

You will interpret customer requirements, configure vehicle specs, support the development of engineering BOEs, and lead engineering for on-contract programs, interacting with US and international customers in all phases of the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering required.
• Experience with coordinating and supporting vehicle programs from an engineering perspective.
• Familiarity with vehicle-level systems and subsystems and their interactions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem solving and communication across disciplines.
• Willingness to travel ~5% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements and complete internal/external compliance matrices.
• Configure vehicle specifications to meet customer requirements and application needs.
• Support development of BOEs and lead execution once approved.
• Lead engineering POC for all on-contract programs for the commercial-based military vehicle platform.
• Interact with US-based and international customers from engineering perspective across all program phases.
• Develop and maintain vehicle and subsystem Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Lead change control management for on-contract orders.
• Possibility of travel to support truck equipment integration and vehicle inspections.

Salary Range: $100,000.00 To $105,000.00 Annually

The vehicle product engineer will be the technical point of contact for our commercial based military vehicle platform, from request for quote to vehicle delivery. This individual will be responsible for interpreting technical customer requirements, identifying scope of compliance, constructing vehicle configurations, and creating/executing to engineering project plans. This position provides a large array of technical exposure from all aspects of vehicle product development.

Responsibilities:

• Review customer requirements and complete internal/external compliance matrix response
• Configure vehicle specifications to meet our customer’s requirements and application needs
• Support the development of engineering basis of estimate (BOE)s, while leading the execution of that BOE when approved
• Lead engineering POC for all on-contract programs for the commercial based military vehicle platform.
• Interaction with both US based and International customers, supporting them from an engineering perspective in all phases of the program
• Develop and maintain vehicle and sub-system level Bills of Material (BOM)
• Lead change control management for on-contract orders
• Potential for travel to support truck equipment integration and vehicle inspections

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering
• Capable of managing and/or supporting vehicle programs from an engineering perspective
• Understanding of vehicle level systems and sub-systems, along with their interaction with one another
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong understanding of core engineering principles
• Experience with solving complex technical problems
• Effective communication skills across multiple disciplines and audiences
• Ability to perform hands-on tasks, if necessary, on heavy duty trucks
• Ability to travel approximately 5% of time

Preferred Qualifications:

• +2 Years experience in the commercial and/or military heavy truck vehicle market
• Hands-on technical experience in or outside the workplace
• Familiarity with Siemens TeamCenter & NX
