Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) invites applications for an Engineer, Product Engineering – Prod Dev (P2) to join the ADEF team in Durham, NC.

The role focuses on developing and qualifying RF/microwave electronic components and subsystems, collaborating with RF, mechanical, and systems engineers to drive reliable, manufacturable designs. You will evaluate materials, lead testing, interpret data, and present findings to stakeholders while supporting continuous improvement and design-for-manufacturing

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of analog RF and microwave electronics.
  • Experience with RF test instruments (oscilloscopes, analyzers, meters).
  • Ability to troubleshoot, rework, and make design improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong analytical and data-analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate reliability of materials and techniques used in production.
  • Plan, design, and develop electronic parts and assemblies.
  • Lead RF breadboard testing and design recommendations.
  • Collaborate with RF designers and mechanical engineers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The ADEF Team is hiring a Product Engineer that evaluates reliability of materials, properties and techniques used in production; Plans, designs and develops electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, mechanical systems, equipment and packaging.

  • Ability to independently evaluate, characterize, troubleshoot, and perform complex rework of RF/Microwave modules.
  • Collaborate with lead RF designers and mechanical engineers in recommending design and process improvements.
  • Perform ATP and DVT tests and summarize/communicate test results in the form of reports that could be shared with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Lead breadboard testing of components during the design phase and make design recommendations.
  • Lead product qualification and any related activities.
  • Support failure analysis through validation and determination of the root cause analysis.
  • Support product engineering assignments.
  • Must be able to format, analyze, and reach valid conclusions from data and be able to present process/product improvement recommendations to the product team as required.
  • Document and present findings, for development, sustaining, and customer product support as required.
Key Qualifications
  • BS/MS Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of experience.
  • Firm grasp of the basic concepts of analog RF and microwave electronics.
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment such as oscilloscopes, network & spectrum analyzers, power meters, switching matrix.
  • Familiar with RF measurements, such as: compression (P1dB), phase noise, gain, spurious emissions, S parameter measurements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, reworking, and judgmental skills.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Great organization skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills: critical thinking, problem solving and data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and learning sessions.
  • Awareness of ADEF BU markets and its customers.
  • Can provide coaching for emerging engineers.
  • Participate in own career development planning.
