Job summary

Optimal Staffing in Dearborn, Michigan is looking for an engineer to develop new NFC and Key Fob hardware, software, and systems. You will collaborate with the lead engineer and external teams to meet various regulatory requirements, manage parts release, and support ongoing programs.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of experience in automotive electrical systems design and testing. Familiarity with tools like CANalyzer and wireless technology development is advantageous, as is experience with APQP.

Job description

Development of new NFC and Key Fob hardware, software, and systems

Work with lead engineer to take responsibility for a subset of parts/requirements.

Lead design reviews with internal and external teams including suppliers. Quality documentation development and reviews Ensure requirements such as FMVSS, ECE, and other regulatory or legal requirements are met including RF certification and homologation. Packaging of receiver module to optimize RF reception.

Develop and execute design verification plan (DVP) for NFC READER and Key Fob systems on bench, HIL, and vehicle per program milestones requirements (DCV, PEC, FEC, etc). Track status in FEDE and JIRA for issues. Manage parts release in WERS. Support programs through launch by leading issue resolution and presenting status to management. Collaborate with Chassis and Vehicle Operations teams to ensure interface and process/assembly requirements are met. Travel to supplier facilities and assembly plants as needed to support design reviews and launches of new products, APQP and PPAP approval.

Additional responsibilities may include the following: FEDE BOM, DBC, Device Transmittal, VSCS, ED&T and Mountain Charts, ESOW
