Managed Programs, LLC (MPI) in Michigan is seeking a Product Engineer to design and develop automotive composite products to meet customer specs. You will work with engineering and manufacturing to integrate materials, methods, and tooling to bring new products to market.

Responsibilities include leading program plans, maintaining DFMEA and DVP&R, coordinating PPAP activities, creating BOMs and process routings, and guiding suppliers and internal teams through design sign-offs and production

Formación

• Must design and develop automotive composite products per customer specs.
• Experience coordinating DFMEA/DVP&R activities.
• Experience with PPAP processes and supplier interactions.
• Ability to create DFMEA, DVP&R and BOMs.
• Experience with Plex ERP or similar PLM/ERP systems.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage resources.
• Proficient in drafting installation instructions.
• Ability to approve design and supplier PPAP sign-offs.
• Experience supporting prototypes and production builds.
• Strong communication with suppliers and internal teams.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and execute project plans by meeting program deadlines, customer requirements, and successful launch.
• Create and maintain DFMEA and DVP&R.
• Evaluate trade-offs between design options and provide feedback to design engineers.
• Lead engineering technicians, external test labs, and CAE engineers to complete DV and PV.
• Create and maintain BOMs and Process Routings in ERP system like Plex.
• Assist all PPAP activities and ensure the launch process succeeds, including obtaining customer PPAP approval.
• Create RFQ documents and lead component selection.
• Assist with purchasing, supplier selection, and all technical communications with suppliers.
• Provide direction and leadership to other team members to create and manage each aspect of the program, resolve disputes, and assure appropriate resources are utilized efficiently.
• Draft professional product installation instructions for end-use customers.
• Responsible for sign-off on design and drawings before release.
• Responsible for sign-off on supplier PPAP.
• Support prototype and production builds.
• All other duties, as assigned to support product development and manufacturing.

Job Purpose/Summary: This position is responsible for designing and developing automotive composite products to meet customer specifications or sales department requests. Working with the engineering team and manufacturing department, the product engineer is responsible for the integration of materials, methods, and tools necessary to bring new products to the market.
