Job summary

Medtronic Neuroscience seeks a Program Director, Core Team Leader (CTL) to steer end-to-end development and launch of next-generation Neuromodulation systems. You’ll lead cross-functional teams from concept through global commercialization, aligning scope, schedule, and budget to business objectives.

The role requires a strong engineering or scientific background with 10+ years technical work and 7+ years of managerial experience, plus agile and regulated-environment program leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science; 10+ years technical work with 7+ years managerial experience.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional product development programs.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, risks, and cross-functional deliverables.

Responsibilities

The role partners closely with teams across Research & Development, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Reimbursement, and Commercial functions to advance next-generation therapy platforms from concept through global launch. Travel up to 20% is required.The Program Director, Core Team Leader (CTL) , is responsible for the management direction of all phases of design, development, and launch of next-generation Neuromodulation systems. This role provides end-to-end leadership from product definition through development, manufacturing process characterization, production ramp, and global commercialization. The CTL serves as the overall program leader, coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver innovative therapies that improve patient outcomes while meeting business objectives.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead complex cross-functional product development programs from concept through global commercialization, ensuring alignment to scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.Establish and execute program strategies, roadmaps, resource plans, budgets, and key milestones to support successful product development and launch.Drive collaboration across Engineering, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Reimbursement, and Commercial teams to achieve program objectives.Manage program risks, dependencies, critical path activities, and issue resolution while proactively communicating impacts and mitigation plans to stakeholders and leadership.Partner with Clinical, Research & Technology, and Marketing teams to align technology capabilities, customer needs, clinical evidence generation, and product roadmap priorities.Oversee development, verification and validation activities, regulatory submission readiness, manufacturing process characterization, production ramp, and commercialization planning.Communicate program status, business impact, and strategic recommendations to business leadership, functional leadership, and key stakeholders.Represent program vision, roadmap, technology capabilities, competitive positioning, workflows, and clinical value proposition with internal stakeholders, clinicians, and key opinion leaders.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or Scientific field and a minimum of 10 years of technical work experience with 7+ years of managerial experience (no direct reports); or an advanced degree in Engineering or Scientific field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience.Experience leading complex cross-functional product development programs through multiple phases of development, regulatory execution, and commercialization.Experience managing program budgets, schedules, resources, risks, and cross-functional deliverables.Experience collaborating with Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Marketing, and Engineering functions within a regulated industry.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Engineering or Scientific field, or Master of Business Administration (MBA).Experience leading software development programs utilizing Agile methodologies and managing multiple release cycles.Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) development in a regulated environment.Experience supporting global, matrixed teams across multiple functions and geographic regions.Experience within medical device, neuromodulation, implantable technology, or other highly regulated healthcare industries.For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.Physical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.The physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
