Job summary

Concept Labs in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Product Development Lead to manage key cosmetic client accounts and oversee new product development from concept to initial commercialization. You will serve as the primary day-to-day contact, coordinate cross-functional teams across R&D, Regulatory, Procurement, Quality, and Manufacturing, and drive on-time delivery of projects, including stability and scale-up activities.

Onsite role with strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead product development activities for assigned strategic client accounts.

• Lead testing activities including stability, compatibility, fill trials, and scale-up batches.
• Maintain project information in Monday.com and SharePoint.
• Identify risks and develop solutions to keep projects on schedule.
• Mentor Product Development Coordinators and assist with customer presentations.

Position Summary

The Product Development Lead manages key customer accounts and oversees new product development projects from concept through first commercialization. This role serves as the primary day-to-day client contact, ensuring projects remain on schedule while coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver successful product launches.

Responsibilities

• Lead Product Development activities for assigned strategic client accounts.
• Serve as the primary customer contact for project execution.
• Manage project timelines, priorities, and deliverables.
• Coordinate activities between Product Development, R&D, Regulatory, Procurement, Operations, Quality, and Manufacturing.
• Manage sample requests, shipments, approvals, and customer evaluations.
• Review and maintain project documentation, formulas, specifications, BOMs, and commercialization records.
• Lead customer meetings and provide regular project status updates.
• Coordinate testing activities, including stability, compatibility, fill trials, and scale-up batches.
• Maintain accurate project information within Monday.com and SharePoint.
• Identify project risks and develop solutions to keep projects on schedule.
• Mentor and support Product Development Coordinators.
• Assist with customer presentations and innovation meetings.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Biology, Business, or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in cosmetic product development or project management.
• Experience managing multiple customer accounts simultaneously.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Onsite for client meetings, pilot batches, production support, and laboratory activities as needed.
• Occasional travel to Pleasant Prairie, WI facility and customer locations.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Occasional standing and walking in laboratory and manufacturing environments.
