Job summary

HARTING Americas in Elgin, IL is seeking a Product Development Intern for Summer 2027. This full-time, on-site internship offers hands-on projects, cross-functional collaboration, and exposure to new product development processes. Compensation ranges from $22 to $25 per hour, based on class standing and experience.

You will use CAD tools, develop prototyping and fabrication skills, and contribute to early-stage product concepts and NPI efforts in a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electric, Electro-mechanical preferred).
• Experience with 3D CAD software (Siemens NX preferred).
• Experience with prototyping and fabrication and virtual team projects.
• Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities

• Support new product development through rapid prototyping and testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring products to life across markets.
• Assist with design of connector components and 3D-printed parts.
• Review technical specs and drawings to support NPI efforts.
