Job summary

Nordic Naturals seeks a Product Development Formulator, NPD to drive new dietary supplement development and renovations across multiple delivery formats. You will lead formulation design, ingredient selection, feasibility evaluation, stability planning and documentation for stage-gate commercialization.

You will collaborate with Marketing, Sourcing, Operations, QA, PD Engineering and Project Management to ensure successful launches.

Qualifications

• BS in food science, chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in dietary supplement formulation or related field.
• Ability to develop, read, and interpret SOPs and regulations.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with many departments.

Responsibilities

• Develop new formulas and renovate existing products to support new claims and brand expansion.
• Research and identify optimal ingredients, materials and delivery technologies for new products.
• Conduct feasibility assessments and troubleshoot formulation challenges to ensure timely progression.
• Create Master Manufacturing Records (MMRs) and other stage-gate documentation for commercialization.
• Design stability studies and interpret results with QA and PD Engineering.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers and vendors for formulation development and sourcing.
• Partner with Marketing on brand development, claims strategy and product positioning.
