Job summary

ITW Power Nailing, part of the ITW family, Illinois, Glenview, is seeking a Product Development Engineer to lead fastening solutions from concept through commercialization. You will own nails and staples products, drive improvements, and coordinate with Product Management, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to meet customer needs.

You will apply engineering analysis, prototyping, testing, and structured problem solving to deliver innovative, reliable products that strengthen industry-leading

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline and 5+ years in product development or engineering.
• Strong mechanical design, problem-solving, and project leadership abilities.
• Experience from concept through commercialization and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, validate, and commercialize fastening solutions across product lifecycles.
• Own performance and evolution of nails, staples, and related products.
• Collaborate with Product Management to assess needs and opportunities.
• Apply analysis, prototyping, testing, and risk assessment to validate performance.
• Lead New Product Development projects from concept to commercialization.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations to launch and improve products.
• Conduct customer visits and field evaluations to identify opportunities.
