Job summary

ITT Flow Technology is seeking a college co-op student to join the Mixing Industry Continuous Improvement Team. You will assist in new product development, redesigns, and lab testing, using CAD to create drawings and 3D models.

Responsibilities include collaborating with Purchasing and Operations to support manufacturing and cost-effective product design. Pay is $25.00 per hour for Spring–Summer 2026 co-op terms.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations to determine product size, capacity and performance.
  • Use CAD to analyze models, record weights, materials and other elements.
  • Analyze data and product specifications to determine feasibility of proposals.
  • Prepare product/system layouts and detailed drawings for manufacturability.
  • Design mixer components from sketches or prints and adapt designs.
  • Ensure designs meet functional and performance specifications.

Job Summary

ITT Flow Technology is looking for a college co-op student to join our Mixing Industry Continuous Improvement Team. The student will be responsible for development of new products, redesigns of existing products and general laboratory testing for proof of concept and evaluation testing as assigned. Includes new product design, rationalization of existing product lines, redesign for cost reductions or product standardization and product line expansions. Operates computer-aided design (CAD) system to create component drawings, system drawings, 3D models of components and systems, resize or modify designs. Assist with new projects and redesigns of existing projects, create mixer designs from sketches, marked up prints, verbal or written instructions and/or product specifications. Provides support for manufacturing, purchasing, and warranty. Works closely with Purchasing and Operations teams.

Pay: $25.00HR

Co-op term: Spring - Summer 2026

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering calculations required to accurately determine product size, capacity and performance to meet required design parameters.
  • Utilize CAD software to analyze existing models and record weights, materials, and other essential elements.
  • Analyze research data and Product Specifications to determine feasibility of product proposal.
  • Confer with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop design.
  • Prepare or direct preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics and design for manufacturability.
  • Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
  • Ensure engineering standards for existing products are maintained, which includes completing the Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Engineering Change Order (ECO) process, which also includes existing product maintenance projects.
  • Perform Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE) activities as related to addressing existing product designs. Identify opportunities to take cost out of existing designs and implement through the ECR and Product Maintenance process.

Education

Pursuing a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
