Job summary

ITW's Research and Development team is seeking a Product Development Chemist to design, develop, and scale up acrylic, polyurethane, and epoxy adhesives for energy, transportation, wear, and industrial markets. This role emphasizes entrepreneurial spirit, collaboration, and delivering differentiated products in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Organic or Polymer Chemistry and 4–10 years in industrial R&D.
• Experience developing adhesives/coatings in commercial settings is preferred.
• Strong formulation and analytical skills with hands-on lab work.

Responsibilities

• Develop acrylic, polyurethane, and epoxy adhesive formulations for multiple market sectors.
• Lead scale-up from lab to mid- and full-size batches and manage tech transfer.
• Conduct patent searches and protect intellectual property in development areas.
• Collaborate with internal teams and ensure safety, quality, and ISO compliance.
