Job summary

Aquilon in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Product Development Associate/Manager to lead end-to-end development for swimwear and coverups. This hybrid role collaborates with design, sourcing, and overseas factories to keep calendars and costs on track.

You will manage fabric details, CAD reviews, and sample development, inputting data into PLM and coordinating with suppliers to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in apparel product development and/or production.
• 3+ years in coverup product development and/or production.
• Strong communication, tracking, and follow-up skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects to meet deadlines.
• Experience with overseas agents, factories, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Follow up with Customer & Design on deadlines to maintain calendar timing.
• Attend design pass offs to review CADs and ensure styles meet costing limits.
• Maintain fabric and embellishment grids with style details.
• Input fabric details into Customer’s PLM system.
• Review lab dips & strike offs with design teams and customer teams.
• Communicate with overseas suppliers and factories.

Role Description: The Product Development Associate / Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Long Beach, CA. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Follow up with Customer & Design on deadlines to maintain calendar timing
• Attend design pass offs to review CADs with team and make sure styles are within our Customer’s costing limitations
• Strong Raw Material Sourcing skills with knowledge of material leadtimes and costing
• Maintain Fabric & Embellishment grids with all style details
• Inputting fabric details into Customer’s PLM system
• Review all lab dip & strike off submits with design team and respective Customer’s teams
• Communicating with suppliers & factories overseas
• Excel, PLM systems, input info on products
• Costing with factories & cross-functional teams
• Requesting and tracking sample development
• Tracking fit sample requests to monitor WIP production charts
• Attend fittings– internal and with Customer to record notes and follow product from beginning to end.
• Receive and check all orders and release to factories.
• Check all hanger, packaging & approving tags for production

Requirements:

• 5 years+ experience in apparel product development and/or production
• 3 years+ experience in Coverup product development and/or production
• Strong communication, tracking, and follow-up skills
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously to help meet team deadlines
• Strong time management skills; must be able to multitask and quickly shift gears
• Experience working with overseas agents, factories, and suppliers
• Must demonstrate desire to learn, grow and be open to change
