You will work within a multi-functional team to drive development from conception to market, supporting formulation, regulatory, and analytical considerations, while focusing on performance, waste reduction, and quality improvements. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 4+ years of experience in product development (food), formulation and scale-up experience.
  • 6+ months of experience in product development (food) or related roles.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% as required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage development, scale up, and implementation of new and existing technologies for product performance improvements.
  • Explore innovative applications of pet food product/process possibilities using current food tech.
  • Support marketing with technical project plans and timelines for assigned projects.
  • Support product formulation including ingredients, nutritional, regulatory and analytical requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain assigned product responsibilities using standardized scientific procedures.
  • Initiate and implement cost reduction ideas for product lines and factories.

Position Summary

Our Product Development Associates bring ideas to life for both our wet and dry factories. As part of the Technical Services group,you’llcreate the flavors, shapes,and textures often innovated in marketing and so enjoyed by pets.Come prepared tohandle various intermediate-term product developments and engineering processes for the business, as well as provide technical support to manufacturing operations.You’llleverageyour sharp science background and food formulation experience to be able to effectively qualify new raw materials and suppliers.Identifyand lead performance, waste reduction, and quality improvement projects to help us remain a leader on the shelf.

  • Explore innovative applications of pet food product/process possibilities based on current state-of-art food technology
  • Serve as technical resource for marketing to develop a robust pipeline of product development opportunities, which includes developing technical project plans and timelines for all assigned projects
  • Support product formulation includingappropriate ingredients, nutritional,regulatoryand analytical requirements
  • Proactivelymonitorand provide product maintenance for assigned product responsibilities requiring standardized scientific procedures
  • Initiate and implement cost reduction ideas for assigned product lines and factories

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree

Salary: $63,236.70 to$84,868.00 per year

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
