Job summary

Orly-Corp. is seeking a highly organized Product Development Associate to manage day-to-day sourcing and product development for gifting and lifestyle products. You will collaborate with overseas vendors and guide projects from concept through sampling, costing, and production handoff.

The role partners with the Director of Product Development and cross-functional teams to ensure milestones, quality, and cost targets are met in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Product Development, Product Sourcing, Product Design, Packaging Development, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience working directly with overseas vendors and managing product sourcing and development timelines.
  • Strong understanding of product development, sample development, costing, materials, production processes, and product execution.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day product sourcing and development across gifting and lifestyle products, from initial concept through production handoff.
  • Partner directly with overseas vendors to source products, materials, components, and packaging based on design direction, customer requirements, target costs, and delivery needs.
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities, quotes, MOQs, lead times, materials, and development feasibility, recommending solutions that balance cost, quality, and timing.
  • Own and maintain Time & Action (T&A) calendars, proactively driving development milestones and delivery deadlines.
  • Manage sample development across all stages (proto, SMS, PPS), including tracking, review coordination, comments, approvals, and vendor follow-up.
  • Review product samples for construction, materials, packaging, functionality, quality, and overall execution.
  • Manage costing, quote comparisons, and value-engineering opportunities to help achieve product and customer targets.
  • Identify development risks early and proactively recommend alternative materials, constructions, sourcing options, or other solutions.
  • Maintain accurate product information, specifications, materials, costing, and development details within PLM.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Design, Sales, and Production while independently managing assigned development projects and day-to-day vendor communication.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Product Development Associate to independently manage day-to-day sourcing and product development activities across gifting and lifestyle products. This role is designed for a product development professional who can take ownership of key development workstreams, work directly with overseas vendors, and move products from concept and sourcing through sampling, costing, approvals, and production handoff.

The Product Development Associate will serve as a critical product development partner to the Director of Product Development, owning assigned projects and proactively driving solutions across sourcing, development, costing, and execution.

What You’ll Do
  • Own day-to-day product sourcing and development across gifting and lifestyle products, from initial concept through production handoff.

  • Vendor communication and follow-up are proactive, with issues identified early and solutions brought forward.
  • Products meet expectations for cost, quality, functionality, and timing.
  • Product information, samples, costing, and development documentation are accurate and well manage
Who You Are
  • 3+ years of experience in Product Development, Product Sourcing, Product Design, Packaging Development, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience working directly with overseas vendors and managing product sourcing and development timelines.
  • Strong understanding of product development, sample development, costing, materials, production processes, and product execution.
  • Ability to evaluate sourcing options, vendor quotes, lead times, MOQs, and product feasibility and make informed recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple development projects and proactively resolve day-to-day issues.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and strong follow-through.
  • Strong communicator capable of managing multiple priorities and working effectively across internal teams and overseas partners.
  • Proficient in Excel and PLM systems.
  • Experience within gifting, accessories, fashion, beauty or consumer products preferred.

Orly-Corp. provides base salary ranges for all U.S. positions in accordance with applicable laws. The expected base salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000.

Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and overall qualifications. We offer a total rewards package, including health benefits, paid time off, and opportunities for career growth within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
