Job summary

Tailored Brands, Inc. is seeking a Product & Costing Associate to work with the Product Development team in New York, NY. You will bring expertise in men’s apparel, fabrics, design principles, and the lifecycle from design to sourcing to life.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can lead development meetings while ensuring on-time delivery and accurate tech packs in PLM.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of apparel industry experience.
  • General knowledge of men’s fashion, textiles, and design principles.
  • Experience with PLM software is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to cross-functional time and action calendar.
  • Manage development requests from design teams and coordinate fabric/trim/garment development.
  • Communicate with factories and mills about style and production timelines.
  • Create and manage bulk production style tech packs in PLM system.
  • Lead weekly development meetings and participate in cross-functional sessions.

The role requires a passionate and motivated individual, well versed in men’s apparel, fabrics, design principles, and the design, development, and sourcing processes. The ideal candidate is a passionate and highly organized individual who can thrive in a fast-paced work environment.What You’ll Do | Key AccountabilitiesAdhere to cross-functional time and action calendarManage development requests received from design teamsInitiate and/or track status of all fabric, trim and garment developmentCommunicate daily with factories and mills regarding style and production of developmentActive participation in adoption meetings with merchandise partnersCreate and manage bulk production style tech packs in system accurately and efficiently into PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systemManage approval of bulk submissions, including fabric and garments, against established standardsProcess all samples and share with appropriate team members, review both PPS and TOP samples and document in systemWork with production department post adoption to ensure on time deliveryDaily cross functional partner interaction to assure correct product design is createdLead weekly development meetings for respective productParticipate in scheduled cross-functional meetings to support businessDevelop subject matter expertise on the respective productWhat You’ll Bring | Skills & ExperienceDegree in related field requiredTwo or more (2+) years of relevant work experience in the apparel industryGeneral knowledge of men’s fashion, textile and apparel design principlesExperience working with product lifecycle management (PLM) software strongly preferredAbility to work well in a collaborative and creative environment with little supervisionHighly self-motivated and directed, dependable with a strong work ethicDemonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and collaborative environmentCapacity for effective cross-functional collaboration within the organizationStrong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize, juggle and execute tasks, and deliver results on strict deadlinesKeen attention to detail, and demonstrated customer-service focusExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with management and coworkersAdaptable and flexible to change, new ideas, and innovative approachesProficient use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and OutlookWORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS:Be able to work full-time from our company's New York, NY officeAuthorization to work in the United States for any employerRegular and on-time attendance; Hours can regularly exceed 40 hours per week; Must be able to work overtime as neededAbility to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of timeAbility to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basisAble to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionallyAbility to perform general office administrative activities: writing, copying, filing, delivering, and using the telephoneMust utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipmentThe starting salary for this position is $61,110–$81,453. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications. Over time, and subject to performance, tenure, and evolving responsibilities, total compensation for this role may grow to as much as $101,795.
