Job summary

SharkNinja in Needham, MA is seeking a Product Development professional to drive growth across Shark floorcare product lines, partnering with Engineers, Marketers and more to deliver a 5-star consumer experience. You’ll own day-to-day business management, conduct user research, and push product improvements from concept to shelf.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in product development or related fields, a consumer-first mindset, and strong communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years experience in product development, product marketing, marketing, human factors engineering, or related field.
• A passion for hair care or beauty helps; experience in beauty/haircare products is a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing, Management, Engineering, or related fields.
• A 100% consumer-first perspective when introducing new products or improving processes.
• Ability to build relationships across multi-functional teams with strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal – to present and influence at all levels.

• Be the voice for legacy products by sharing insights for next-generation features.

The Product Development organization within SharkNinja drives our global product roadmap from concept to shelf through the constant lens of the consumer. Here are some of the EXCITING things you’ll get to do:

• Support the Shark floorcare business with the development of successful and profitable programs for key products to ensure continued growth of the product portfolio – you will be responsible for the day-to-day business management and enhancement of some of our Shark product lines, including driving product improvements and optimizations, conducting user research, and partnering with Engineers, Marketers, and more on rolling these product enhancements out to ensure a continued 5-star experience
• Define, develop, and iterate product specifications, marrying consumer wants/needs, white space in the market, and product technologies as the primary consumer advocate
• Take ownership of your assigned categories’ sales performance – partnering with others in the company to identify what products are working/not working; and recommend new product opportunities to fill those gaps
• Lead competitive product analyses, giving your business partners insight into how Shark stacks up against the competition - and maintaining a clear lens on how we can constantly improve to make Shark the consumer’s top choice every time
• Be the voice of our legacy product lines: share insights and learnings from consumers and the market with Product Developers focused on NPD to ensure critical features and feedback are incorporated into next generation products
• Partner with SharkNinja Testing and Quality organizations to define, develop, and manage quality and performance testing procedures
• Act as the product “expert” for cross-functional team member questions and concerns

ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:

• 2-4 years of experience in product development, product marketing, marketing, human factors engineering, or a related field – preferable at a consumer goods company.
• A passion for hair care or the beauty realm would make you stand out for this role. Formal experience working in the beauty or haircare product space (hair tools, cosmetics tools, etc.) is a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Marketing, Management, Engineering, or a combination of the above
• A “100% on” consumer-first perspective when it comes to introducing new products/processes or improving current products
• A mindset geared toward building relationships across multi-functional teams, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.
• COMMUNICATING FOR IMPACT, one of SharkNinja’s SUCCESS DRIVERS, is immensely critical in this role. Highly-effective communication skills – both written (presentation/email) and face-to-face (ability to host succinct, effective conversations that solve problems and ability to make effective presentations to all levels of management) – are required.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• A desire to learn and grow in a passionate environment
• The ability to embrace transparency and shifting priorities while learning from each decision and focusing on the path forward

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is displayed below. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

$65,600 — $115,000 USD
