HCSS is seeking a Product Designer I to advocate for users in the heavy civil construction space. You will partner with Product Managers and TPMs to conduct discovery, translate complex workflows into wireframes and flows, and validate concepts through usability testing.

The role emphasizes user advocacy, research-driven decisions, and rapid visual concepting. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative product team environment, shaping solutions from early-stage exploration to concrete design

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate a clear design thinking process from ambiguous problems to validated wireframes.
• Comfort with rough sketching and quick iterations over high-fidelity polish.
• Experience using AI tools to rapidly generate proofs of concept and visualize ideas.

Responsabilités

• Partner with PMs to understand business requirements and define user problems.
• Plan and conduct generative and evaluative research and synthesize findings.
• Translate complex logic into structural wireframes, user flows, and low-to-mid fidelity concepts.
• Collaborate with Product Management to map out business logic visually.
• Design and run usability tests to validate new workflows before coding.
• Package validated flows and insights for UX peers to maintain core strategy.
• Build strong empathy for diverse users in heavy civil construction workflows.
