Job summary

Meta is seeking a Product Designer to help shape innovative experiences for billions of people. You’ll participate in every phase of product development, from brainstorming new ideas to refining pixels before launch, collaborating with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content strategists.

You will lead design projects of large scope, transform broad concepts into valuable user experiences, and influence strategic direction across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and more.

1. Leads and delivers design projects of large and (or) ambiguous scope.

2. Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable for our 2 billion plus users.

3. Design flows and experiences that simplify and distill down complex actions into usable interfaces.

4. Design new experiences or layouts that evolve and define visual systems.

5. Contribute to strategic decisions around the future direction of Facebook products.

6. Give and solicit feedback from designers and a broader product team in order to continually raise our bar for quality, while also taking on mentorship.

7. Lead a partnership with product managers, engineers, researchers and content strategists to oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch.

1. Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field

2. 6+ years of experience designing complex software products, end to end, with a focus on user experience, interaction, and visual design that meet business objectives

3. Conducts complex research studies and drives business growth through design-led innovation

4. Leads end-to-end development efforts, drives progress with XFN teams, develops design roadmaps, and makes high-impact decisions balancing user needs with business growth objectives

5. Expertise in advanced prototyping techniques, such as creating functional prototypes or using emerging technologies

1. Proven track record of leading the design of complex products for virtual, augmented, mixed reality, and other emerging technologies

2. Strong experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional stakeholders such as User Research, Engineering, and Product Management

3. Advanced skills in prototyping 3D interactions or interfaces using Unity and other industry-leading tools

4. Expertise in designing and implementing novel user inputs such as hand or eye tracking

5. Experience driving the design of products for developers and/or creators, with a focus on scalability and platform development

6. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

7. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

8. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Public Compensation:

$170,000/year to $236,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
