Job summary

Garmin is seeking a full-time Product Designer 2 for Outdoor Handhelds and Hunting Devices at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area.

You will design user experiences for a diverse product range and mentor by design leadership, working with engineers, graphic artists, and product managers to guide UI direction. The role emphasizes usability, user-centered design, and collaboration across teams to deliver compelling features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in interactive design, human factors, visual design or related field; 1+ year relevant experience, or 5+ years combined education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Research, design and prototype user experiences for new features and products in a timely and organized manner.
• Communicate research and designs using mockups, story boards, visual presentations and behavioral documentation.
• Produce simple, highly usable solutions for how products interact with human behavior.
• Document clear, organized solutions understandable by stakeholders and engineers.
• Collaborate with design leadership, software engineers, graphic artists and product managers to determine design direction.
• Assist with UI testing and usability testing to gather feedback on designs.
• Collaborate across product design, software engineering and management to produce superior solutions.
• Adapt designs to changing project needs and some ambiguity.
• Maintain UI consistency across product types.
• Contribute to advanced design research or concepting for new products or markets.
