Job description

Fiska is transforming how finance teams manage event spend. We're building the first AI-powered platform that automates expense tracking, budget management, and real-time reconciliation for social media and marketing professionals (SMMPs).

Our customers save an average of $250K+ annually and reduce reconciliation time by 78%. We're backed by leading investors and working with global brands to solve billion-dollar problems in event finance.

About the Role

As a Product Designer at Fiska, you'll shape the future of how finance teams interact with complex financial data. You'll create beautiful, intuitive interfaces that make managing event spend feel effortless, even when dealing with millions of dollars in transactions.

This role requires a unique blend of visual design excellence, user research skills, and the ability to solve complex UX challenges in the fintech space. You'll work closely with engineering and product teams to deliver experiences that users love.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Product Design: Own the complete design process from discovery and ideation through wireframing, prototyping, visual design, and implementation for web and mobile applications, ensuring seamless handoff to engineering teams
  • User Research & Insights: Plan and conduct comprehensive user research including interviews, surveys, usability testing sessions, and field studies to deeply understand finance team workflows, pain points, and needs, translating insights into actionable design decisions
  • Visual Design Excellence: Craft pixel-perfect, aesthetically beautiful mockups and high-fidelity prototypes with meticulous attention to typography, color theory, spacing, and visual hierarchy while maintaining brand consistency across all customer touchpoints
  • Complex UX Problem Solving: Simplify and streamline intricate financial workflows, complex data visualization challenges, and multi-step processes into intuitive, user-friendly experiences that reduce cognitive load and increase task completion rates
  • Interactive Prototyping: Create high-fidelity interactive prototypes with realistic data flows, micro-interactions, and animations to validate design concepts, test usability, and effectively communicate design intent to stakeholders and development teams
  • Design System Architecture: Establish, evolve, and maintain a scalable design system with comprehensive component libraries, design tokens, usage guidelines, and documentation that ensures consistency and accelerates product development velocity
  • Accessibility & Inclusion: Champion accessible design practices ensuring all interfaces meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards (minimum), designing for keyboard navigation, screen readers, color contrast, and creating inclusive experiences for users with diverse abilities
  • Cross-functional Partnership: Collaborate seamlessly with product managers to define roadmaps and requirements, work alongside engineers to ensure feasible implementation, and engage directly with customers to validate solutions and gather continuous feedback
  • Data-Driven Design Optimization: Leverage analytics platforms, conduct A/B tests, analyze user behavior metrics, and synthesize qualitative feedback to continuously iterate, improve, and optimize user experiences with measurable impact
  • Brand & Marketing Design: Partner with marketing teams to develop cohesive brand identity elements, create compelling marketing collateral, design customer-facing communications, and ensure consistent visual language across all channels
Requirements
  • 4+ years of professional product design experience with demonstrated impact, preferably in B2B SaaS, fintech, or enterprise software with complex workflows
  • Outstanding portfolio showcasing exceptional visual design craft, systematic UX problem-solving approach, design process documentation, and measurable business impact of shipped projects
  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma including advanced features like auto-layout, variants, components, design tokens, and collaborative design workflows (or equivalent modern design tools)
  • Proven experience designing sophisticated data-heavy interfaces, analytics dashboards, and complex information architecture that make large datasets comprehensible and actionable
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, design thinking methodologies, Jobs-to-be-Done framework, and human-computer interaction best practices
  • Hands-on experience planning, conducting, and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative user research including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and contextual inquiry
  • Exceptional visual design sensibility with mastery of typography, color theory, composition, grid systems, and ability to create cohesive, polished interfaces that delight users
  • Outstanding communication skills with ability to articulate design rationale, present work persuasively to stakeholders, and facilitate productive design critiques
  • Highly self-directed with entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable with ambiguity, able to thrive in fast-paced startup environments, and proven ability to work autonomously in remote settings
Nice to Have
  • Advanced animation and motion design skills with ability to create meaningful micro-interactions, transitions, and animated UI elements that enhance usability and delight using tools like After Effects or Principle
  • Professional background in motion graphics, illustration, or 3D design bringing unique visual storytelling capabilities and brand differentiation to digital products
  • Deep expertise in accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1, Section 508) and inclusive design practices including designing for assistive technologies, neurodiversity, and cross-cultural considerations
  • Significant experience architecting and managing enterprise-scale design systems using modern platforms like Figma design systems, Storybook, or design token systems with automated documentation
  • Specialized knowledge in AI/ML interface design patterns, conversational UI, data visualization best practices (D3.js, Chart.js), and techniques for explaining AI behavior to users
  • Proficiency with advanced prototyping and animation tools such as Framer, ProtoPie, Origami Studio, or code-based prototyping to create production-ready interactive experiences
  • Experience with design operations (DesignOps) including workflow optimization, design tool management, version control for design files, and establishing design team processes
  • Understanding of product analytics tools (Mixpanel, Amplitude, Heap) and ability to independently analyze user behavior data to inform design decisions
