Job description

Join us at Remark

Join the Remark Revolution

Remark is reshaping the e-commerce landscape by harnessing the power of AI and personalized support to solve a critical problem: the low conversion rates plaguing online shopping. Our platform connects shoppers with trained product experts, using AI to enhance every interaction and turn browsing into buying. With Remark, we're not just selling products; we're providing a seamless, personalized shopping experience that boosts revenue and builds loyalty.

We're a mix of visionaries, tech enthusiasts, and, frankly, a few eccentrics who've sharpened our skills at giants like Amazon and Salesforce. Now, we're channeling our collective expertise into building an environment that values curiosity, innovation, and a bit of fun along the way.

What we're looking for

As a Product Designer at Remark you will be responsible for executing on the vision and strategy of the Remark brand. You'll work extremely closely with the engineering team to ensure designs are thoughtful and well reasoned. The role requires deeply understanding and relating to our customer, and solving issues they didn't even know they had. You'll be responsible for advancing Remark’s design across web, mobile, merchant dashboard, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Own new product features from start to finish. Idea, user research, experience design, pixel-perfect visuals, and (maybe even) front-end implementation.
  • Lead design for the holistic Remark brand, from user landing pages, to profile pages, to marketing materials.
  • Own accountability for the performance of key deliverables, including impact to the business and our customers.
  • Develop an actionable roadmap, maintain timelines, and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to stay organized while working against given deadlines while also managing ASAP requests.
  • Balance speed and quality, with a focus on tangible results.
Qualifications
  • You have at least 3-5 years of prior experience in design organizations that have shipped software to users, working closely with Product and Engineering teammates to develop the strategy and rationale for features.
  • You have an outstanding portfolio, with presentable case studies showcasing a strong foundation in product sense, idea generation, typography, interaction and visual design.
  • You have a sharp intuition for how people use (and wish they could use) products.
  • You love thinking holistically: Your considerations go beyond pretty UI and include thinking about the implications of your designs, what's most effective towards helping students learn and collaborate, what's best for the business, and how to balance speed and craft.
  • You're a masterful communicator and storyteller, able to draw people in and enhance understanding through design and written language.
  • You have a love for and healthy fear of design systems, and understand why they are important. Particular emphasis and respect for Figma’s auto-layout.
  • Experience partnering with highly technical teams is a plus.
  • Experience setting/working towards KPIs and OKRs is a plus.
  • +1 if you're able to re-create pixel-perfect designs in HTML and CSS. Even better if you're familiar with React!
Bonus points if
  • You thrive when things move fast.
  • You have a cute pup.
  • You appreciate roasted veggies.
  • You avoid single use plastic.
  • You've seen a mountain goat.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary and equity.
  • Full healthcare benefits (medical, dental, vision).
  • Flexible PTO (at least 15 days / year recommended).
  • At least 1 company retreat to Colorado annually.
  • $500 expense reimbursement for qualified fitness and outdoor recreation activities.
