Job summary

Winnebago Industries, Inc seeks a Design Engineer in Forest City, IA to support new product development and ongoing product improvements. You will produce drawings, validate designs, and oversee installation of your concepts within production constraints.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, 4+ years of mechanical design experience, proficiency with Siemens NX or similar CAD tools, and strong communication across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 4+ years of combined education and experience in mechanical design.
• Proficient with professional design standards and drafting practices.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Able to collaborate across cross-functional groups.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate mechanical systems and components using engineering principles.
• Release all drawings and components for production within cost and time parameters.
• Conceptualize designs and convey fabrication requirements clearly.
• Coordinate with supply chain to analyze vendor samples and drawings.
• Investigate design and assembly improvements to enhance safety and reduce costs.
• Develop production work instructions, tooling requirements, and manufacturability.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or relevant engineering field
