Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is seeking a Product Design Engineer III – Fluid Systems in Orlando to lead the design and development of aftermarket fluid-system solutions for gas turbine applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 3–8 years of direct fluid system design experience for industrial machinery, power plants, or turbines.

Responsibilities

• Lead feasibility studies, requirements definition, design execution, and validation across the fluid systems product lifecycle.
• Develop and validate new fluid system products aligned with technical, operational, and quality requirements.
• Plan, execute, and report on test, analysis, and verification activities for turbine fluid systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to manage product requirements, traceability, and compliance using documented processes.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation including P&IDs, specifications, layouts, and piping docs.

Role Overview

The Product Design Engineer – Fluid Systems leads the design and development of innovative aftermarket solutions for gas turbine fluid systems, including fuel gas, fuel oil, lube oil, air, and fuel gas systems. This role performs feasibility studies, product design, verification and validation activities, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance turbine performance, reliability, and fleet-wide operational excellence. The position also leads efforts, collaborates with leadership, and provides strategic oversight to developed new solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead feasibility studies, requirements definition, design execution, and validation activities across the product lifecycle for fluid systems.
• Develop and validate new fluid system products aligned with defined technical, operational, and quality requirements.
• Plan, execute, and report on test, analysis, and verification activities for turbine fluid systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to manage product requirements, traceability, and compliance using PTC Code beamer and Design & Development processes.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation for product implementation and turnover, including P&IDs, specifications, layouts, and piping documentation.
• Support ISO 9001 compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, and product performance enhancements across the fleet .

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 3-8 Years direct experience in Fluid System Design (building process piping, skids or control valves) for industrial machinery, power plants, or turbines is required.
• Experience with system-level design, requirements management, and product validation for industrial equipment. Familiarity with ASME B31.1, B31.12 and B31.3 piping codes and applicable industry standardsdesired.
• Strong analytical skills related to engineering problem solving.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, electronic mail, and Math Lab required.
• Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
• Minimal travel May be required – some overnight travel (expected 5 to 15%) by land and/or air.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and must not require employer immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
