Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking engineers in Rockford, IL to perform build up and tolerance analyses, check drawings to standards, and create NX models and assemblies. You will collaborate with multinational design teams and use Teamcenter PLM for most technical work.

The role requires a STEM degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, with preference for NX experience and knowledge of GD&T. A hybrid work model is offered with comprehensive benefits and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Prior experience with design/modeling.
• Experience with GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Perform build up and tolerance analyses for assemblies.
• Check drawings for accuracy and compliance to company / industry standards.
• Create solid model piece parts and housings in NX.
• Create assemblies and layouts in NX.
• Create dimensioned detail component drawings.
• Investigate and improve, with engineering, current product design issues.
• Execute Collins Standard Work using Design Standard Features and Design Guidebook as appropriate to complete the task.
• Investigate and resolve current product design issues.
• Collaborate with our multi-national design teams around the world.
• Perform nearly all technical work within the Teamcenter PLM environment.
• Contribute to product and process continuous improvement activities.
• Commit to and meet program deadlines.
• Status team regularly on task performance and completion.
