Job summary

JAMAK is seeking a Product Design Engineer with a manufacturing background to join our Weatherford, Texas team. In this role, you will design and develop elastomeric products from concept through production, collaborating with manufacturing processes to bring new products to life.

Responsibilities include applying 2D/3D CAD (Pro/ENGINEER preferred) to create detailed drawings, working with suppliers on molds and dies, and ensuring designs meet ISO 9001 standards while driving manufacturability

Qualifications

• BSME or related engineering discipline required.
• Minimum 5 years in elastomeric product engineering or equivalent.
• Hands-on manufacturing experience from design through production.
• Strong 2D/3D CAD skills; Pro/ENGINEER preferred.

• Design and develop thermoset elastomer products via molding processes.
• Collaborate with suppliers to develop molds and dies.
• Create detailed drawings and models using CAD (Pro/ENGINEER preferred).
• Manage engineering design for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Apply knowledge of machining, materials, pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics.
• Ensure ISO 9001 compliance and meet customer requirements.
• Evaluate manufacturability and address DFM challenges.
• Communicate complex concepts to stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional teams and drive project plans.
• Coordinate information flow to keep projects on track.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop thermoset elastomer products, including components produced via injection molding, compression molding, and extrusion processes
• Partner with external suppliers to develop injection molds, compression molds, and extrusion dies that meet quality and performance specifications
• Apply strong 2D and 3D CAD skills to create detailed engineering drawings and models (Pro/ENGINEER preferred)
• Manage engineering design for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in commercial facility applications
• Leverage knowledge of machining methods, material selection, pneumatics, hydraulics, electro-mechanical actuation, and robotics to drive design decisions
• Ensure all designs comply with ISO 9001 quality standards and applicable customer requirements
• Evaluate manufacturability throughout the design process and proactively address design-for-manufacturing challenges
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through written reports and oral presentations
• Champion cross-functional collaboration, engaging teams with diverse priorities to align on solutions
• Drive root-cause analysis and problem-solving efforts on complex engineering challenges, conducting comparative evaluation of multiple solutions
• Develop comprehensive project plans that support organizational goals, ensuring on-time delivery and resource alignment
• Coordinate and manage information flow across multi-functional teams to keep projects on track

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related engineering discipline required
• Strong manufacturing background, with hands-on experience supporting design through production in a manufacturing environment
• Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in elastomeric product engineering or equivalent discipline
• Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD; Pro/ENGINEER experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
