Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, personalized service that meets Design Center standards.
• Process quotes, estimates, and orders accurately, including pricing, quantities, specifications, and documentation.
• Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, fabrication, and installation teams as needed.
• Assist with inventory checks, sample management, and returns when applicable.
• Keep showroom displays accurate, clean, and visually appealing.
• Collaborate with Design Center Coordinator and Outside Sales on leads and project transitions.
• Communicate promptly when information is incomplete or additional details are needed.
• Address product questions, order discrepancies, and technical issues promptly and professionally.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Product Consultant to guide customers through product selection, technical considerations, and quoting within their assigned product category. This senior, customer-facing role combines product knowledge, consultative sales, and careful order coordination to provide a smooth experience from the initial conversation through quote delivery and order execution.

Product Consultants are responsible for accurate estimates and quotes, clear communication, and thorough handoffs. They work closely with Design Center leadership, Coordinators, Outside Sales, vendors, and operations teams to keep customer projects moving.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify customer needs through active listening and thoughtful questions.
• Guide customers through product options, compatibility, design considerations, and general installation requirements.
• Prepare accurate quotes, estimates, and special-order documentation within established turnaround times.
• Provide attentive, personalized service that meets Design Center standards.

Product Expertise

• Maintain a thorough understanding of assigned product categories, including specifications, options, limitations, and lead times.
• Accurately interpret drawings, measurements, and technical documents.
• Stay informed about vendor offerings, product updates, and industry trends.
• Explain technical information clearly so customers can make informed decisions.

Operational Excellence

• Process quotes, estimates, and orders accurately, including pricing, quantities, specifications, and supporting documentation.
• Review vendor requirements before submitting orders to help prevent errors, rework, and delays.
• Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, fabrication, and installation teams as needed.
• Assist with inventory checks, sample management, and returns when applicable.
• Keep showroom displays accurate, clean, and visually appealing.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with the Design Center Coordinator to ensure smooth customer handoffs and follow-up.
• Partner with Outside Sales on leads, product selections, and project transitions.
• Communicate promptly when information is incomplete or additional details are needed.

Problem Solving & Issue Resolution

• Address product questions, order discrepancies, and technical issues promptly and professionally.
• Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve problems.
• Keep customers informed about timelines, changes, and order status.
