Job description

Napster offers lifelike AI agents that meet your customers wherever they are, and collaborate with your employees as coworkers. Agents that meet your customers on your website, inside your app, on a kiosk in a hospital lobby or a quick-service counter. And agents that work right next to your people, a real crew for every single employee.

Why Now

Product-market fit and pipeline quality need to be measured, not narrated. Today our signal is scattered across the tools where it lives, and no one has turned it into the handful of numbers that decide what we fund, what we kill, and what we ship. The org needs trusted instrumentation and dashboards instead of anecdote-driven debates.

The Opportunity

You own how Napster knows what is working. You connect the data, then build the dashboards and proof readouts that tell the truth and make it legible to Product, Sales, Partnership, and the board.

This is a judgment role for someone who turns messy, multi-source data into trustworthy proof, defines standards that hold across teams, and has the spine to say what the data actually shows.

What You'll Do
  • Define the metrics that matter: activation, usage, deployment success, and the proof signals that show a motion is real.
  • Own instrumentation across product surfaces, and the data standards that make a number mean the same thing everywhere.
  • Measure deployment success and POC-to-order proof signals.
  • Build and maintain the dashboards and proof readouts leadership and the board use to make product and investment decisions.
  • Set data standards so metrics mean the same thing across teams.
  • Decide what is worth measuring, and say what the data actually shows.
Your First 90 Days

Audit existing instrumentation, connect the scattered signal, and define the metrics for our priority motions. Ship the first dashboards and proof readouts, and create a proof-readout template the org can reuse. By day 90 the test is simple: the org reaches for your numbers in decisions instead of arguing from anecdote.

How You'll Know It's Working / What Success Looks Like
  • Dashboard adoption across product and leadership teams.
  • Increased trust in metrics as the basis for decisions.
  • Fewer prioritization debates driven by anecdote instead of data.
  • Clearer, more consistent proof signals across motions.
Who You'll Work With

You make the signal legible to Product, Sales, Partnership, and the board. You partner with Engineering on instrumentation and with Product Operations on turning numbers into roadmap decisions.

What You'll Bring
  • Experience leading product analytics or data/BI functions at a B2B software company.
  • Strong SQL and dashboarding skills (e.g., Looker, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar), plus the judgment to know what's worth measuring.
  • Track record building instrumentation and metrics from a fragmented or immature data environment.
  • Ability to define data standards that hold up across multiple teams and motions.
  • Experience presenting metrics to leadership or board audiences in a clear, defensible way.
  • Skeptical, evidence-first mindset - comfortable telling leadership what the data actually shows, not what's convenient.
  • Proof from Messy Data. You turn fragmented, multi-source signal into trustworthy numbers leadership believes.
  • Measurement Judgment. You know what is worth measuring and what is noise, and you decide.
  • AI-First Operator. You instrument with AI: agent-assisted metric definitions, anomaly checks, and self-serve answer layers, so the org gets trustworthy answers without routing every question through you.
  • Data Standards. You define standards that make a metric mean the same thing across teams.
  • Narrative Legibility. You make numbers land for Product, Sales, Partnership, and the board.
  • Spine. You keep the organization honest when the data is inconvenient.

Sales forecasting, the finance model, and customer success health scoring stay outside this role unless explicitly agreed otherwise.

Why This Is One of the Best Seats, Period

Most analytics roles serve someone else's dashboard. You will own the numbers a company decides its future by. If measuring what is real, and saying so plainly, is the work you love, this is the seat.
