Job Overview
The Product Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for the development of product plans, strategies and tactics in coordination with the Product Management team. The overall objective of this role is to coordinate the promotion of products to develop new markets, increase share of market and obtain competitive position.
Responsibilities
- Product Backlog & Release Management: Managed comprehensive product backlogs and prioritized releases by collaborating closely with business and stakeholders ensuring timely delivery of high‑value features reflecting benefits in $$.
- Developer Experience & Collaboration: Collaborated effectively with technology partners, CTI engineering and operations, and USPB core platform engineering teams to define and implement a unified and streamlined customer service experience.
- Requirements & User Story Definition: Worked closely with stakeholders to gather intricate requirements, translating them into well‑defined user stories for agile scrum teams, ensuring clarity and alignment with technical capabilities.
- Quality Assurance & Testing Liaison: Served as a primary liaison for Quality Engineers, articulating testing requirements through BDD and other acceptance criteria to ensure robust product quality.
- Process & Governance Establishment: Maintained rigorous procedures, standards, and processes for Work Intake and backlog prioritization, enhancing operational efficiency and strategic alignment.
- Strategic Initiative Tracking: Liaised with the Program Management Office, program managers, and business sponsors to track initiatives, define success criteria and ensure alignment with broader business strategy and outcomes.
- Communication Strategy & Stakeholder Engagement: Managed and researched effective communication strategies for internal and external stakeholders, disseminating information on releases, surveys, and product accomplishments.
- Product Effectiveness & Feedback Loop: Tracked critical metrics and outcomes to demonstrate product effectiveness and established lines of sight to business impact, devising and implementing plans to gather continuous user feedback.
- Learning & Development Support: Provided training and mentoring support for product owners and collaborated with learning management teams to develop focused learning pathways.
- Finalizes the project plan with stakeholders and tracks closely for successful project delivery.
- Aligns with end users to understand business needs, writes requirements, conducts walkthroughs on requirement documents.
- Revises Functional Requirements to Business Requirements to ensure technology meets end‑user needs.
- Partners with technology, product and operations teams to prioritize delivery of key projects.
- Applies best practices for effective communication and problem solving.
- Performs project status reporting to stakeholders, product and operations partners.
- Understands the bank environment and compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Tracks actual project costs, identifies variances, and reforecast project costs as needed.
- Measures project management performance against standards.
- Leads cross‑functional teams to resolve business issues related to technology projects with significant business impact.
- Acts as SME on product customization projects and influences decisions through advice and counsel.
- Documents new products and changes to existing products, ensuring smooth business implementation during launch.
- Assesses risk when business decisions are made, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Owns requirement creation for given effort and leads scrum team deliverables.
- Creates Epics, manages SCRUM team, and delivers on product discovery and release management.
Qualifications / Skills
- 9–12 years of experience in banking domain; retail or cards experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies, program management, cross‑functional coordination, project planning and execution, risk and dependency management, stakeholder management, and JIRA.
- Deep knowledge of banking systems, theories, and practices relevant to the function.
- Experience with technical product road mapping, product backlog management, release planning and prioritisation, journey mapping, product strategy, TCO optimisation, requirements gathering, user story definition, and feedback mechanisms.
- Practical experience of multiple business cycles and knowledge of industry and competitor products/services.
- Solid conceptual and practical grounding in the function and/or area of expertise and strategic direction of the business.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Willingness to work night shifts.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
